amalia was a painter

amalia was a passionate  artist with a rose printed unto her hand

like the constellations connected one line at a time to from a rose

amalia has a mind of a garden

ever so pretty and divine

her curled black hair waves down to her shoulders, it brings contrast to the fair skin she has.

the world in her head is magical

blooming

vibrant

filled with life

colorful

warm

inviting.

like a blooming forest filled with yellow and pink flowers.

like the cold, crystal blue waters at the northern islands

like the smile and glimmer of hope when someone hears they won a contest

or the beauty of biting a juicy burger while your stomach growls in hunger.

her mind bloom.

it was everything she ever wanted.

but the real world around her is the complete opposite

dull

dreadful

grim

hatred

crime

insulting

it was heartbreaking for her to see the world as it slowly deteriorate from it's glorious beginnings.

her neighbors at here left scream for anger.

while the other one at her right, yelps in hunger.

the crime outside scares her.

and so as when some other hand lays on her.

she never set foot outside her door.

knowing what can happen to her.

she mostly shuts her door. locked.

and keeps all the space of her room, hers.

she creates art to amuse herself.

to take her out of the miserable world

she takes inspiration from her mesmerizing imagination every time she strokes a brush.

it lifts her a smile

that is wider than a mile.

her room is filled with paintings, vibrant and warm.

it keeps her away from every little harm.

she wishes her house would soon be filled with colors

so that she would feel she is in her mind's wonders.

being taken out from her unpleasant reality

to a place where she have always wanted to be.

with only two portraits left, it was almost done.

her smile grew wider and she danced for fun.

neighbors saw her laughing and giggling by herself

the next day, she was rumored

"The Crazy Elf"

she didn't care what they'd think.

not what they'd do.

all she knows, she already escaped

her grueling reality, where everything isn't safe.
