Meeting Archie
***
You and Emma Swan had always been close. In fact, back in Boston you were roommates. So when a child claiming to be her son showed up at your apartment, and asked Emma to come home with him, you went along with them.
My God, was that a mistake.
After hearing the town was called Storybrooke, you and Emma immediately thought the kid was messing with you. What kind of town is called Storybrooke?
The kid was absolutely mental, you thought. He claimed Emma was part of a storybook - a fairy tale. He said all the fairy tales in his book were real.
The streets were quiet. Even at night, the streets in Boston were never empty. But here, it didn't look like there was a soul in sight. Emma parked her car, and got out, ready to leave the child there and return home.
"Look kid, it's been a long night, and it's almost... 8:15?" Emma was puzzled, as the two of you stared at the clock tower.
"That clock hasn't moved my whole life, time's frozen here."
You shot Emma an amused look.
"The Evil Queen did it with her curse."
"Yeah, okay kid. Frozen in time, stuck in Maine. That's what you're going with?" Emma rolled her eyes.
"It's true!"
Suddenly, a man yelled out Henry's name. You looked over to see a man walking in your direction, with a dalmatian at his side. You ran your eyes over him, smirking when you noticed how cute he was.
"Who are you guys?"
"Just some girls giving him a ride home," you smiled.
"She's my mom, Archie," he pointed at Emma, "I don't know who she is."
"Y/N."
"Yeah, anyway could you tell us where he lived?"
"Yeah, up towards that street. The mayor's house is the biggest one on the block," he instructed.
"You're the mayor's kid?" Emma yelled.
"Where were you today, Henry? You missed your session."
"Uh, I went on a field trip." You had to laugh at the kid. He did like to lie.
"What did I say about lying, Henry? Giving into one's dark side never accomplishes anything," he scolded the boy. You had a growing suspicion this man was Henry's shrink.
"Oookay, well we really need to get him home. Thanks for the help," Emma smiled, tightly.
"No problem. Good night, and nice to meet you. See you Henry," Archie's eyes lingered on you, and you grinned at him.
