"Go look for her!" Henry yelled at Jefferson, and the man whipped around, grabbing Henry by the shoulders.
"I can't!" The Mad Hatter said, his voice hard. "Don't you understand, kid? If I go after her, she'll remember all the horrible things I have done."
Jefferson paused, and let go of Henry, meeting his eyes again. "And she'll hate me."
