Soul sighed, taking a sip of his milk shake. He was waiting for Maka to get away from her clingy father. Someone skipped by him, and he looked up. It was a young girl, probably around his age, with a short white skirt, and an open baby blue blouse that showed a sort of bra shirt, that was also white. She had a white back pack that had a golden swirled medallion, that caught Souls eye. "She's a witch." He heard someone hiss behind him. He jumped, dropped his shake, and whirled his head around. "Maka!" he hissed. She frowned. "Lets go. We're gonna follow her." Soul glowered. He had hoped that he could watch her from afar, but since he had eaten 98 keshan eggs, a witch was the last one he needed. He stood up, and followed Maka who hissed at him to stay to the shadows. He obeyed. When they had tried the girl into a darker alley, they stood silent behind a dumpster as she paused. "Why are you following me? I've done nothing wrong." She said loudly. Maka stepped out from behind the dumpster. "You are a witch." The girl whirled around, exposing a tender beautiful face and rich (e/c) eyes, that struck soul to his core.

"Spirit already took my sister from me, what more could the academy want?" Tears welled in her eyes. Maka's eyes widened. "Your souls wavelength... or rather the lack thereof... What are you?" Souls eyes widened as he felt Maka reach out to him through their connection. In front of him stood the girl in a large sphere of bright light... that had a large crack in it. "What?! What could you possible want?!" She screamed. Maka gestured for soul to transform... and he did so, however reluctantly. He stared at the young girl in confusion as Maka  wielded him. The girl began to sob. "I can't... Im so sorry...(S/N)" She slumped down, and Maka's eyebrows furrowed. She lunged. As she brought Soul's blade up to strike and as she brought him down, he yelled "MAKA WAIT!" suddenly his vision went white and Maka's voice faded.

He was dropped into the white void, and landed with a grunt. He stood up, and rubbed his head looking around. When he turned around, he noticed a large clock, shaped like a grandfather clock, that had stopped working. Instead of a clock face, there was an orb that had the young girl inside it, her soul, hovering in front of her. He walked forward, and looked at the pendulum. Engraved on it was one sentence. 'Whoever swings this once more, will become the reason for her heartbeat, and will become her home.' A voice sounded behind Soul. He turned around, feeling strangely calm. A young girl in white stood before him, bearing some resemblance to the girl that Maka and him had been 'stalking' for near an hour.

The girl in white smiled. "Hi! I'm (s/n), (y/n)'s sister. I heard you want her for her soul." Soul nodded hesitantly. "Well you an't have her soul unless you fix it. And in order to fix it, you have to start the clock again. Turn the key, and you can have her soul." Soul nodded as the girl urged him forward. "GO! Turn the key." He did so, and the pendulum began to swing, creating a beautiful swishing noise. Her soul now began to mend the cracks and a wavelength appeared. He was suddenly sucked from the void, and he was back in the normal world. Only, he was on the floor. He transformed back. He turned around and was shocked to see that Maka was hissing in pain as she waved her hands about as if she had been burnt. "Maka what's wr-" Soul reached for her, but she backed away. "Don't touch me!" She shrieked, and ran out of the alley. Soul, exasperated, looked back at the girl, whom he now knew as (Y/N). She was staring at the ground, as if she was in shock. "Hey are you okay?" he asked quietly.

She looked at him, and burst into tears once more. "Y-yes... T-thank you s-so m-much!" she sobbed out, clutching her hands together tightly. Soul smiled and crouched down. "I'm Soul. Do you have a place to stay?" She shook her head, looking down timidly. He smiled. "Well you can stay with me. I don't know if my partner... well expartner I guess, will be back to get her stuff or not... she'll probably move back to her moms." The girl nodded, and blushed. "I... I'm very thankful." Soul smiled. "No problem."
