A very Clovely story

Chapter 4:The reaping of the 74 annual hunger games

I wake up, and feel worried. Are the odds in my favor? I dont know. I take warm bath and wash my hair and skin very well. I pick out a green dress with beautiful yellow shoes. I put my hair up in 2 braids. I have always loved braids. I look in the mirror and I look very pretty. I go down and eat breakfast and head for the woods. Then I see him. Cato looks amazing in his white shirt with black pants and shiny black shoes. He smiles and says, "You look gorgeous" "You look handsome" He smiles and again I fall in love a little bit. The reaping is a 4 pm and it is 9 am. We decide to get as much food as we can just in case we end up going. We get 20 rabbits which we caught with snares, we fished and got herbs and berries. "That should be enough", he says. "Yeah", I reply. He sits down and I sit next to him. He looks into my eyes and says, "I love you Clover. You know why I call you clover right?" " No i really dont", I say laughing. He laughs too and says, "Well, you gave me luck. You made me love you. You made want to go on. You are my four leaved clover" I smile and he smiles. He hugs me and holds me, no kissing, just hugs and affection. He then kissed my head. I love him so much. It is now 2 pm. "We should get going", I say standing up "Yeah", he says and gets up. We divide our food and leave to go to our houses. He turns around and says "I love you" I turn around and say "I love you too!! So very much" He smiles and runs. I run too. Oh cato, why do you have to be so charming. I get to my house and see my mother. She is crying. She runs and gives me a hug. "I love you" she says with a smile. I smile back and say "I love you too mom!". I run to my sister's bedroom and she is gorgeous as always. She has the same dark hair as Joan, but has gray eyes. Seriously, I dont know what is up with my family's eyes. I have my dad's eyes, my mom told me, Joan had my mom's, and Rose has a mixture of both I guess. She smiles and says " You are my role model Clove" "Thanks" I say. She gives me a hug and I give her a flower I found in the woods and give it to her. I walk out and say "Remember me" She nods. I walk off to the circle. I go in line and get the blood test. It used to hurt but now it doesnt. I get in the section of 15 year olds. I wait there and then I see Cato he waves at me and I wave back. Veronica, the girl from the Capitol that reaps the people is there. They play the capitol message and everyhting and then she says "Ladies first" I start to get scared. What if its me? What if its my bestfriend? I am so scared. She then says, "Clove Greenleaf!" I stand there, not moving. Then I realize I must. I walk toward the stage and see Cato he is sad. Veronica says, "and now the boys!" She then calls out, "John Calvo" The 12 year old is walking toward the stage when I hear Cato yell, "I volunteer" What is he doing? He comes up to the stage and shakes my hand and we go into the rooms. My mother and sister come to visit me. We hug and cry, and my sister has sad eyes. I kiss her in the cheek and say I love her. Then the Peacekeepers come and take them away. Next comes my bestfriend, Monica. She says, "Clove, you can win this! Just get to the knives alright?" "Alright" We sit there hugging and she kisses me. She gives me a bracelet I made for her when we were 10. She says, "It is your token now" I cry and hug her tight. Then the peacekeepers come and take her away. Then I hear yelling. It is cato. "Let me through!", he yells. He opens my door and opens his arms. I dont hesitate and hug him hard. "What did you do Cato...." I say with a hushed voice. "I volunteered to save you. And that is what I am going to do. Save you" he says with a clear and poweful yet sweet voice. He kisses me gently. Then the peacekeeper say its time to get on the train. We head to the train and our mentors are there. Enobaria will be my mentor, and Brutus will be Cato's. We talk about sponsors and watch the Reapings. I look at my possible allies from D1: Glimmer and Marvel. Then I see us. I dont pay attention to 3. I look at 4, they dont look strong but whatever. I look at the girl from 5, she looks smart. Then I see the crippled boy from 10. I get so mad. How did they send him there? He can barely walk! He is injured! I hate the Capitol. Then from 11 I see Rue, a 12 year old. It gets me mad too. I see the boy, he is strong, possible ally. The from 12 the girl volunteers for her sister. I smile, she is brave. And then i see Peeta, not that strong. Interesting mix. We eat dinner. I get stuffed. I go to my room and shower and put my night gown on. Im scared. So scared. I go to Cato's room and in my way I bump into Enobaria. "You love him, huh?" she says with a smile. "Yeah" I blush. She brushes my hair with her hands. I go into the room and Cato is there without his shirt. He sleeps without his shirt, and it doesnt bother me. "Can I sleep with you tonight? Im scared" He smiles and says, "Sure". I get into the bed and snuggle with him. Brutus walks into the room and sees us. He smiles and says "You look good together" I act like I am asleep but Cato talks to him. "Yes, I love her. i volunteered to save her" He plays with my hair. Brutus says "she is very beautiful. Protect her, love her, dont let her go" "I wont", says Cato. Brutus smiles and leaves. Cato pulls me closer to him and kisses me. I act like I am asleep. We will arrive to the Capitol in the morning. I snuggle with Cato and let his warmth protect and put me to sleep.
