I was born a Plutonian. My name was Paithenia. I had seven heads and thirteen eyes, which is rare to Plutonians just like green eyes are rare to humans. My parents didn't care at all though; Plutonians aren't very sentimental.
I grew fast and before I knew it, I was working underground digging out rooms and tunnels. We were planning on making many, but for now, it was slow progress.
We were ruled by the kind and just King Hayden. He had a daughter: Princess Eliana. She was gorgeous, with eighty-two sparkling eyes and long tentacle-like legs.
Back then, nobody really changed into human form. We had no reason to. Being human made us weak and vulnerable, and most aliens thought humans were ugly.
We never really talked with other aliens, except in rare times like if we needed foreign supplies. So when an unidentified ship landed on Pluto, everyone was confused and terrified.
I was sitting at the edge of the underground entrance tunnel when the king rushed passed me. He was furious. The ship had crashed recklessly on top of a wagon of supplies and continued to skid across the dusty ground, stirring up gargantuan dust clouds and destroying countless buildings.
When it had finally completely stopped, King Hayden and several guards raced over. They stopped in front of the ship and Hayden banged on the door, calling, "Open up!" The door slowly creaked open, revealing a weary-looking Neptunian.
I hardly saw him because he instantly dropped to the ground, trembling. His twelve hands outstretched as if bowing. Hayden gently kicked his shoulder, rolling the Neptunian back and revealing him to everyone.
I hardly got a glance; by now everyone had pushed past me, blocking my view; but one glance was enough. He was the most handsome creature I had ever seen! In that brief second, I saw all I needed to see.
His eyes were wide and scared, but I knew, behind all that adrenalin, was a kind loving Neptunian. I had to get another look!
Frantically, I pushed past a few Plutonians, bowling them over in desperate attempts to see the love of my life. I finally reached the front of the crowd and I heard Hayden ruthlessly interrogating him.
Usually, us Plutonians are very welcoming when it comes to other aliens. But Martians and Neptunians especially are known for being sneaky and cruel.
"Why are you here? What is your name? Don't make a move! You're going to pay dearly for this mess!" The king bellowed, not allowing my beloved Neptunian to speak.
"P-please," he sputtered, catching his breath, "let me explain."
"Explain then!"
"Okay," he caught his breath.
He then explained how he had been banished by his father, High King Calvin of the Neptunians, because his evil older brother had wrongfully told the King that his son was planning to take over the throne so that his wicked brother could inherit the crown instead of him. He took another deep breath.
"It wasn't true, of course. Now my father has forsaken me, and Neptune is being ruled by," he gulped, "The wicked King, Chad."
We all made quick glances and mumbled at each other as he introduced himself.
"My name is Colin."
