Chapter 6

When I was sure they were done talking I started to move, acting as if I was just now waking up. Skylar kept petting my head as he smiled down at me.

"Good morning Raven, did you sleep well?" he asked softly to make sure he wasn't to loud. I nod smiling softly at him. I had to act normal or they will start to suspect me of knowing more then what I was making them believe.

"Oh Skylar, we are stopping at a port today, so we are making the ship look like a cargo one. I would like if we took Raven into the town for more clothes. The ones he has are falling apart." Ryker was trying to be nice, the ones I had had been ripping or was ripped off me. It didn't help I could now see one of the faces to the voice that attacked me.

I felt chills as I realized it was Ryker's navigator. He always seems so nice and friendly before but now all I could think of was the cruel act he has done to me.

'Wait, they want to take me off the ship?' I thought looking at Ryker then Skylar. This was perfect. I could find a way to get away from them and find a way back to the pirate island to boss. Once I tell him what has happened the pirate laws will put them all away to never be able to touch me again.

I just had to find a way to get away. I wasn't about to become toyed with more. Moving slowly, I stood up and grab Skylar's hand, letting him see the look in my eyes.

"Okay, Okay. I can see you are tired of being cooped up in here. We can take him. Maybe the fresh air will help him heal some."

I wasn't to sure about that, but whatever it takes to get off this cursed ship and away from them. I followed Ryker and Skylar to the deck to see we weren't to far from the ports and that the flag that they had had been taken down to show a white and red one. I wasn't sure what it meant but I knew we were acting as a cargo ship. For what I wasn't sure.

I had to play this right or I wouldn't be able to get away. When I felt a light pull on my hand I realized I was still holding onto Skylar's. He seems fine by it but Ryker was glaring a little, so I let go. Walking towards the railing I watched the water, something about it was calling out to me. I wanted to just drop into it.

Hands grab mine before I could do anything. Looking over my shoulder to see who it was I was a little shock it was both Ryker and Skylar holding my hands.

"Don't get to close to the edge, we are still moving. If you fall in you could get killed." Ryker spoke gently, as if he was speaking to a child. I frown a little before looking to the sea. I was longing for it, I couldn't tell you why or even what was making me want to go back out to it when I have only been in pain from it.

'They must know why, and yet here I am only knowing very little. Even about my own self. If I didn't get away soon, this could end me.' I couldn't stop the thoughts running through my head as I slowly came back to hearing them.

"Maybe after shopping a bit, we can go down to the shore so you can feel the water." Skylar suggested as he look at Ryker wondering if it would be okay. I watched them, I was hoping I wasn't around long enough for that. I wanted to be away as soon as possible.

"That sounds like a good idea, since you have been on here you haven't felt the sea." Ryker move to place his hand on my shoulder, he had let go of my hand and it felt weird feeling their touch. My skin was crawling and I couldn't do anything about it.

If I didn't act normal around them, then I don't know what they will do. Maybe lock me below deck or even in their room until the time came that they spoke of? I didn't want that.

"Alright, lets get going so you can get some more clothes." Skylar lead the way off of the ship as people looked at us weird. I had no idea where we were or even how far from the pirate island we had become. My heart started to pick up speed as we moved into the small town that was near the port. It hurt the aching pain in my chest the farther in land we went.

'I don't want to be here, I don't want to be here.' I was having trouble breathing but refuse to get Skylar or Ryker's attention about it. If I did they would drag me right back to the ship, I didn't want that even more then being away from the sea.

All the noise around us was slowly fading compared to the sound of blood rushing to my ears. Was this a panic attack? I had no idea what was going on with me.

"Here's a good place to start." Skylar said turning to face us before the smile on his face faded. "Raven, are you alright? You look pale?"

I smile weakly at him, moving closer to him to pretend it was the crowds of new people scaring me. He seems to believe me and pull me closer to him a little.

"It's going to be okay, we won't let anything happen." This time his eye didn't twitch. He was serious this time, and not lying. At least he was trying not to lie.

I move to look at some of the little bits of clothes the small shop had. 'I need a plan, if I want to get away.'

Someone bumped into me when I wasn't looking and I was push into the back of the shop. A young woman stood near by smiling.

"Well little Nix, you are in luck. My brother and I can hear your inner thoughts screaming the moment you step foot onto this land. We will help you get away from the Raging Scar pirates." She said as she moves to take my hand gently.

Strange how my body did not shake when she touch me but when a male would. I followed her only because right now I was away from Ryker and Skylar. If I had to me would get away from her also if it turns out just like with them.

"Don't worry kid, we aren't as bad as those so-called brothers of yours. We are Asrai's. You can say we are a kind of aquatic fairies. We can hear the inner thoughts of some." Her smile never seemed to fade or change. It was starting to make me relax.

"Besides, our father knew of your mother." A man appeared beside her a second later as we walked towards a different part of the small town keeping out of sight in case Ryker or Skylar was near or anyone from their crew. I look at them and could tell she was older then him by maybe a few years.

I tilt my head wondering how they knew my mother. Even if their father did, how did they know I was her child.

"The sea calls to you as it had called to her. You are the last of the special breed that was in the nixies. That is why the prophecy calls you the rarest of blood. Yes, we know a little about it but that's it. Your mother had told our father who told us that if we ever found you off the pirate island to keep you safe. There are some who want to you use to hurt others." He spoke as if he knew everything about me. Which I wouldn't mind right now since I was trying to run from my only family left.

"We are almost there." The female spoke as we approacheda ship that was hiding on the other side of the island.
