Chapter 9

Everything was dark, I couldn't feel any of the pain anymore. I knew however it was not all gone and that I would wake up to it. But for now, I was trying to take in all the peace I could.

In the darkness I could see a small light, something was coming towards me. I have no idea what it is. As it got closer I could see this beautiful woman, her face and eyes look almost like mine but different. It was not my mother, I knew that.

"No little one, I am not your mother. I am however related to you. 400 years ago, I allowed myself to come out of the sea to try and have a family. I am the goddess Sedna. From my fingers the seals, whales and sharks were born. When I came to land I meet a male nix, he was amazing. So, he and I started a family. As our children and grandchildren grew I realized I would be the only one to live forever so I return to the sea. You are one of my line. You are the last of my line."

I watch her speak and could not tell if my mind was playing tricks on me or if this was real. She smiled and snap her fingers, in seconds we were out of the darkness and into the water world of the sea. Fish and all swam passed us as if we were not there.

"Because we are not here for real. I am just showing you an image from what I have seen before. Raven dear, I want you to know something. The faster you get yourself in water the better. You are special, and it is not just because of me. The creators of the prophecy knew you would be the last and knows what will happen to you. Once you get the chance to not hesitate to leave those men you call brothers."

I nod once before looking around me at everything. It was so beautiful; my heart was yearning to be here for real. As if my soul was screaming for it, the feeling of the cold water against my skin. The fish and animals moving with me to explore the worlds waters.

'I want this for real, right now.' I whimpered weakly. She came to my side and gently touch my face.

"My dear Raven, you will. If I must call for help for you. I will make sure you get this. The freedom the water brings to your kind and the freedom each one of your gifts deserve." She held so much sadness in her eyes I knew she had to of lived as long as she said. My heart ached for her just as much as hers ached for me.

Everything started to fade and that's when panic started to take me. I didn't want to wake up. Why did they have to ruin everything? My life, my dreams even my mind. They were ruining everything around me.

When I open my eyes slowly I was tied to some post below deck, it seems they had not cared I was out cold and still used me to their own means. It also didn't stop the pain that I was feeling. Everything hurt, it hurt to even breath.

I could see dried up blood all over my body even in places it shouldn't be at. It didn't help that I felt so hungry. I had not eaten in what felt like days. Everything was dark around me, so it let me know that they all were asleep.

I had to find a way out of this, all of it. It was all too much for me. I keep struggling with the ropes trying to get them to loosen even just a little. My wrist was hurting very much by the time they loosen a little.

"Oh no you don't." I look up when I saw Skylar grabbing the ropes and pulling me up onto my shaky legs. "You are not getting away that easy baby brother."

He forced me to walk to the deck, by the time we got up to it my legs were ready to give out and I almost went face first into the deck if it wasn't for Ryker standing right there to catch me.

"He was trying to escape again. So, I am locking him in our cabin until we get back." He smiled darkly. It sent chills down my spine as I look up to Ryker with pleading eyes. 'Be the big brother you are and stop all of the pain I am feeling.'

But of course, he wouldn't do that, he needed me to make this prophecy come true. I was lifted into his arms and carried into the cabin, he didn't set me down however. He held me to his chest gently.

"Raven you did this to yourself. If you had just stayed with us and listened, we would have never hurt you like this." He said as he buried his face into my hair, he smelled it softly. "You smell like the sea, even though you haven't touched it."

I cried my eyes out as he showed the one soft side that I could not get to help me. This side wanted me forever by their sides, but I don't think they realize when they try to break the seal it will cost me my life.

"Even...if...it means...my life?" I finally found my voice as it was a weak one. He looks into my eyes and sigh softly as he laid me down tying my hands back to the headboard.

"We do not wish to make it your life, but if we can release the master of the sea, we of the water beings will be able to take back what is ours. The water fairies told you more than we thought I guess. It is not your fault though. We will end them when we find them." He moves to pet my head gently as he watch me.

Skylar made a noise at the door, glaring. "Let's go Ryker, we can't be here all day."

Ryker turn away from me to go towards his twin, "We don't have much more time with him left, id like to spend as much as possible before we lose him forever."

Skylar sigh and nod, he agreed with his twin, but he wouldn't say it out loud. For fear that I would disappear on them again.

They left the cabin and lock me inside. I look out the window towards the sun that was slowly starting to rise above the window sill. I could see dark clouds in the distant.

'The sea will catch you when you fall, sleep while you can. We will make you dream of the land you long for.' The voice inside my head said softly. I could not tell if it was male or female. It was just that a voice.
