Chapter 14

This small creature in my arms seem terrified as I held my lips to his neck, I could hear its thoughts saying this was the end for it. That I would kill it to grow stronger. Its mind was weak, but I could tell it was from stuff other then my doing.

"Take his blood and destroy the humans that have keep you locked away great Master of the Sea!" One men near us said, he was tall much bigger then the one in my arms but not as big as its twin. So, this is what everyone thought would happen when I awoke.

The small creature slowly started to fall into a dream like state, allowing me to see everything it knew and had lived through. So, it really was time for my return. The forces were fighting to break each other, and the other masters would wake once I help set everything into play.

"Children, that is not how you use a gift." I spoke to the men as they walked me, "The gift is one you must cherish, and be loved. Yet all you fools have done is slowly break one down. You have become corrupted by the darkness long ago and now the light has seeked you to help awaken me. How foolish can some be."

I did not have to use any power or sight to know in the moons light that one of its kind was watching, nor that one of the dark was in those boy's shadows. The forces of each other were fighting to break the world down.

Long ago I was locked away by the humans for they feared I was hurting them. When it was not me but the shadow walkers. The beings of light just stood by watching because their master would not allow them to act.

I could not explain why now of all times one of the light beings was acting out to help or if it was even helping. The small creature in my arms whimpered weakly as I could see a dream he was having of a red eye nymph being hurt by a shadow walker.

Something told me all the Gifts were connected, if not in blood by heart.

"We have done everything need to bring you back. You are to destroy the humans and make them pay!" The smaller of the twins said getting angry with me. He held the knife in his hands tight as he glared at me. "They must pay! They ruin everything they touch! Even you have seen this!"

The taller one of the two watch his brother with an odd calm settled over him. I could see the shadow walker was slowly possessing him. Why they choose those two Adaro's to come at me I could not be sure.

I moved the small boy in my arms into the water gently, "I command the sea to protect my gift, if he is harmed anymore we do not want to know what can happen."

I knew the water cherished him the way he should have been by others, but it seemed no one else but the sea did. I felt my heart aching a little for my gift since those two men was the last of his family, and here I was about to fight them because they seem to be losing all control over themselves.

"You speak as if you know all child, but I can say you do not. I have a heart, so for the love my gift has for you as his brothers leave and allow yourselves to live on. Stay and I will have to put you down like the corrupted creatures you are."

My words were not getting through to them one bit. It was frustrating knowing that on the day I am back I must kill to keep the balance from breaking more than it has already.

I step to the side when the smaller of the two came at me with the knife, I turn to grab his hand when the other one move to punch me. They worked well together fighting so this would be a small challenge for me.

I summoned from the water a small sword of my own, so I could fight with some fairness. It did not matter if I had it or not, the shadow walker had completely taken over the older one. The younger one had seemed to have lost his mind long ago.

I jumped away when the bigger one move to try and grab me, it only pushes me closer to the smaller one who took his chance and stab the blade into my side. I could feel the poison on the blade as it burned my skin.

I hissed out as I watched the young mans eyes glow in the moon light. He pulled the blade out and step back from me as he started to laugh.

"The master of the Sea can bleed just like anyone else. And here I thought you were some god!" He says walking to his brother's side. I move my hand to my side and slowly covered the wound that ached.

"No one ever said gods can't bleed too, young child. I am a god. You have just assumed things up until now, your mind has become lost while your brother is possessed." The words I was speaking seem to snap him out of his laughing. He looks towards his brother confused until he saw that the mans eyes were not green anymore but black and evil.

"Ryker?" he spoke softly, as if scared that the wrong words would break his fragile mind. The one called Ryker turn to him smirking.

"Yes, Skylar?" he asked moving and grabbing the twin by the throat. "You have something to say? Or do you wish to continue killing this monster."

I could see the fear and panic in the boy's eyes as he grabs at his brother's hand trying to get air back into his lungs. Skylar seem to fear that something really was wrong with his brother but was not as strong as him to fight against him.

"Let him go shadow walker. This is a fight between us, the child has no place in it." I spoke as I could see that the shadow walker was breaking down them both by using each other. They used dirty tricks like this to get their way, it was how they got me sealed away.

"I'm having to much fun watching those two kill their brother slowly and with our master working to break the next gift, the world will end. Hell, their own father was so easy to break that when they saw him die, this one's mind broke. He has been broken for years." It laughs using the child Ryker's voice to say it all which was causing Skylar pain.

I watched Skylar pick up the knife and stab it into his brother's chest, where his heart would be. The shadow walker was not prepared for this as his eyes widen.

"You are not my brother, and I know he won't be the same when you leave him..." Skylar had tears falling down his face as he watches the life slowly leave his older brother. He turns to me smiling weakly, "Either you can kill me, or I will kill myself."

I did not think I could kill the child but allowing him to commit the biggest sin was not my call either. So even against all my morals and thoughts I moved slowly over to the boy, "You know your brother loves you and will always hold you both in his heart even through what you have done."

He smiles softly as more tears fall down his face, "Then he is an even bigger fool then Ryker and me. We did horrible things to him and he is our brother. Maybe we deserve what has happened to us."

I was not going to confirm nor deny if his words were right or not. I did not have that power, only the creators did. I watch him closely as I moved to kill him fast, so he did not suffer anymore.

The clouds let out all the rain they were holding in as the moon shined through the dark clouds.

"You are still the same as before dear friend." Someone behind me said sounding pained. I turn seeing Undine holding my sweet gift and some medicine for the poison that was slowly making me numb.

"If I was not the same as before then how I can call myself the Master of the Sea, god of waters and seer of time if not for being me?" I ask cracking a small smile. He moves over to let me hold the child as he treated my wounds.

"You may be right, but know he is as fragile as you were once in time." Undine move to allow me to look at the water around us, it seem restless and was slowly rising to cover the island we were on.

"I do not plan to hurt this child no more then he has already. However, I cannot say that fate won't make him suffer more as we still have some things to do." I look towards the moon seeing the man in the light of it watching us. Yes, we still had much to do if we wanted to fix this broken balance.
