Carter watched as Natalie fell asleep. He knew she must have been really tired. He sighed and got out of the car, walked over to the driver side and picked her up, placing her in the backseat. He would ask one of his friends to swing by and drop off his car. He grabbed the keys out of her bookbag and got into the front seat, turning the car on and pulling out the student parking lot. He didn't care that they would miss the first day back to school, he knew Natalie came first. He pulled into the driveway of his two bedroom house. He turned the car off, got out and picked Natalie up, grabbing their things. He grabbed his keys out his pocket and unlocked the door, walking in, closing it behind them. He sat their stuff down on the couch and carried Natalie up the stair and laid her down on the bed, pulling off her shoes and pulling the blanket over her. Carter sighed, taking off his shirt and pants, getting into the bed with her, wrapping his arm around her waist. He didn't realize how tired he was until his head hit his pillow.

Two hours later Natalie woke up, surprised to find herself somewhere other than her bed. Although, this familiar bed was where she felt more comfortable. Here, she and Carter were alone. They wouldn't be bother by a brother or a parent coming home like at Natalie's. She took a deep breath and turned to face him, kissing his nose softly.

"Carter," she whispered and pinched his side gently like she normally did to wake him up. She sat up, pushing her hair out of her face and yawned, before looking at the clock. 10:43. "Carter, we are supposed to be at school."  She shook him gently then climbed over him, standing up and stretching. He turned over. Normally  she would be freaking out, but she didn't. She liked to watch Carter sleep, he looked angelic. She sat on the floor beside the bed on and pushed his hair back. She was more comfortable with him than she was with anyone else. She was so in love, although she sometimes forgot to show it.

He felt Natalie pinch him like she always does but he didn't feel like waking up. He eventually turned over, hoping that would wake him up more. He was awake and could feel Natalie touching his hair. He blinked his eyes twice in an attempt to clear them. He looked up into her beautiful hazel eyes that mesmerized him everytime he looked her. He reached out and tucked her hair behind her ear, caressing her cheek gently. She looked like she was thinking about something. He wanted to know. He always wanted to get inside of her head and see what she thought about. Even though they've been together for 5 years, she never really did talk about her feelings. He enjoyed being alone with her because even though she never spoke it, he knew she was content with him in his little apartment.

Natalie smiled and kissed him when his eyes opened. She sometimes got lost in their pool blue depth. She kisses his forehead softly, then the tip of his nose, then his lips.

"We should be at school," she repeated and took a deep breath. She looked at the clock again. 10:51. She had thirty minutes before second period would be over and she knew that's when the attendance office would call her house to say that she missed the first two periods.  She would have to think of a story so that her parents wouldn't be upset. Field trip? Taking care of a sick friend? Anything but alone in an apartment with Carter. Although Carter tried his hardest to impress them, they were never quite happy with him. Especially not when they found out he lived alone.

Carter smiled as Natalie kissed his face. He enjoyed these rare moments when she showed her feelings to him. He stretched his arms out and sat up, rubbing his hair. He wrapped his arms around Natalie and pulled her onto the bed, laying on top of her. He kissed all over her face, showing her how much he loved her. He leaned back and looked down at her smiling.

"Let's skip, babe." he said. He knew she would probably say no because the school will call her parents like they always do. He just wanted to spend some time with her outside of school. Even though she did come over on the weekends it wasn't nearly as much after her parents found out he lived alone.
