A few years later

I am inside the main room of the castle reading to the twins, Junior and Alex. I’m not entirely sure where Cole is, but I don’t care. Just then I hear a bell. That is strange. Why would someone be at the door? Confused, I get up and start down the hall. The children run ahead of me for whatever reason. However, they don’t open the door. When I get there I open it and see Parker standing there.

“Parker? What are you doing here? I thought you were still doing whatever it is you were doing.” I say.

He looks at me. “I was, but as I was waiting, I ran into someone, so we came back.”

 “Who’s we?”

Then a girl steps around him. I realize it is Nakayla, but she is older now and prettier.

 “Nakayla?!”

“Hey, Kierra.” She says, hugging me.

Then Alex asks, “Mommy, who is she?”

Nakayla looks to her. “Mommy? I didn’t realize…”

I laugh. “That is Alexandra, but we call her Alex and the boy is Cole Junior, but we call him Junior.”

“Wow. A lot has changed in seven years. How old are they?”

I answer, “Well, they are twins. They are four.”

 “Where is Cole?” Parker asks.

I turn to him. “I’m not sure.”

Then I hear footsteps behind me. I see it is Cole. He looks confused as to what is going on.

 "Kierra, what...”

 I move away.

"Oh. Hi Parker and Nakayla.” He says.

I ask, "So, how are you guys?”

Nakayla smiles. "We're getting married. I'm happy.”

Parker looks at her and then to me. "Yeah. So am I.”

Cole says, "So, everything is back to normal...in a way.”

 "Mommy. You never answered me.”

I jump a little. I forgot the twins we're still there.

"Right. Nakayla is my friend, my best friend, but she moved away.”

 "Oh.”

I shake my head and turn back to Parker and Nakayla.

 "You guys got back together?”

Nakayla tells me, "Yeah, but we kept a promise. We said if things ever changed and we still loved each other, things could go back to how they were. They did. I guess you and Cole were fine as well.”

I laugh. "Well, yeah. I guess. I mean we stayed together and are.still together, but things changed. However, compared to before, it was easy to deal with.”

Cole says, "It’s strange how things turned out. Even though everything didn't always go smoothly, it all turned out.”

"Yeah. It did. Are you guys going to stay here?” I ask.

Parker nods. "We are. This is our home.”

"I'm glad I will have my friend back.” I state.

 "Me too.” Nakayla says.
