A few days later, I wake up and find Nakayla is up. She is smiling, but she seems to be thinking. She turns to look at me and I can't help but laugh.

I say, “What are you doing?”

“Trying to decide whether I should be scared or happy.” She replies almost where I can not hear her.

 “Why?”

She states, “Parker and I planned to spend the day together. However, he has plans for us and with Parker, I do not know if that is a good thing.”

I laugh. “Nothing he does is a good thing.”

“Maybe to you. At least I do stuff with him. All you and Cole seem to do is awkwardly stand near each other.”

I glare at Nakayla. She laughs and runs away from me. I run after her and she does not stop until we get to the town. Even then, she runs behind Parker who is speaking with Cole. He looks behind him at Nakayla.

She says, “Kierra is after me.”

I reply, “No I'm not. Why do you think so low of me?”

Parker turns to me. “There is no reason for anyone to think highly of you.”

I snap back, “No one cares what you think, especially me. Maybe that is why I am such a better person than you.”

Cole speaks up, “Neither of you are better than the other. No one argues more than the two of you.”

 “I agree.” Nakayla pipes up.

Parker turns to her. “Remind me why we are friends.”

“I would if I could, but that wasn't my idea. It was yours and I'm too nice to refuse.” Nakayla says, walking away.

It takes Parker a moment to process what she said. Then he runs after her even though she is much further ahead of him.

I look at Cole. “Do you think that we just awkwardly stand near each other and try to hold a conversation?”

Cole looks confused. “No, who gave you that idea?”

“Nakayla.” I respond. As if it was somebody else. I only talk to a limited amount of people.

Cole asks, “What do you want to do? It seems those two are going somewhere.”

 “Like I care.”

“Shall we go to my house?”

 “Sure.” I reply bluntly.

We walk away towards his house. It does not take us long to get there. We get to the front door and I can already hear screaming. Cole cautiously opens the door and walks inside, me close behind. He silently shuts the door and as we walk by the living room, something goes flying over us. I pick it up to find it is a baseball. Cole and I turn to see Asher and Maddox. Of course.

“It was him.” They exclaim pointing at one another.

“I know which one of you it was,” Cole responds, “I'm not stupid. I just want to know why you attempted to take Kierra and me out.”

Asher, somehow I know that, states, “We don't want to take Kierra out, not on purpose anyways.”

Maddox replies, “Yeah, you just appeared at the wrong moment.”

I open my mouth in shock. “Woah, they can speak at different times.” Then I throw the baseball back at them. They jump out of the way and then run up the stairs.

Cole looks at me. “That is one way to get rid of the twins. Except it will not last long.”

Suddenly we hear footsteps. I turn to see a woman behind us. I have seen her once before, but we never spoke. I just assumed she was Cole’s mother, but then again he could have another sister.
