Raven's POV

Waking up took its toll on me. I couldn't seem to open my eyes. My entire body felt physically drained. Rubbing my eyes, I struggled to sit up. Judging from the brightness outside, it must be in the middle of the day. The last thing I remembered was coming home after visiting a tomb with Amon then feeling like I was being beaten before collapsing. I briefly remember crawling to my bed before passing out. That's it.

Slowly making my way to my window, I noticed the villagers were busily moving around the village. The only time the village is that busy is when they prepare for the upcoming Sacrifice. No. That can't be right. That's weeks away. Isn't it? I had to find Amon. And quickly.

Grabbing the first dress I touched, I left the hut. After ensuring that the villagers weren't looking in my direction, I made a dash to the forest behind my hut. My destination, the river. I needed to clean my body. Reaching the river, I looked around to see if anyone was near by. Lately the villagers seemed to be wandering away from the village and into the forest to hunt. For some reason, the livestock seemed to be dwindling. And I know Amon isn't eating them. I may not speak to villagers but I am aware of what goes in the village.

Seeing that no one was around, I removed my dress and got into the water. The sun was high in the sky so the water wasn't cold. It was actually cool and perfect for the heat. Swimming to the deeper part of the river, I cleaned my body, removing the dirt and unwanted filth. I took my time to cleanse myself.

While cleaning, I noticed a strange pattern on my skin over my heart. An intricate crescent moon with a five point star just as intricate was to the right of the crescent. It was in such a way that the crescent kinda surrounded the star. It was beautiful but how the on Earth did I get it. Tracing the design, I admired it. I can't wait to show Amon it.

My thoughts were so preoccupied on the beautiful pattern on my chest, that I was caught by surprise when tremors shook my body. The pain was back. It's been weeks since I got the pain from the tremors that racked my body when Amon arrived.  Biting my lip to suppressed the cry of pain that threatened to escaped, I tried to relax my body. It was difficult but I did manage.

Once the tremors and pain subsided, I slowly made my way to the river bank and got out. Locating my dress, I slid it over my body, the material clinging to my wet skin. It was a beautiful light blue with sleeves that ended above my elbow. The sleeves were rimmed with a white lace. Wringing the water from my hair, I made my way through the forest to where Amon was. It didn't take long to locate him. He was already making his way to the river.

"Raven!" He shouted, closing the distance between us in a few strides.

Reaching me, he grabbed me, pulling me into a tight embrace. I didnt even hesitate. I wrapped my arms around his waist, squeezing him. Due to his height, the top of my head reached the middle of his chest. So when he embraced me, I heard his heart beating. It was racing in his chest like a wild deer in the forest.

"Ami..." I started to say, pulling back slightly to look at him. He wasn't having that. Amon pressed my face against his chest again, this time he bent to bury his own face in my wet hair. The racing of his heart slowly eased. It was only then, that he relinquished his tight hold on me.

"Where have you been Raven?" Was the first thing he asked me.

What? "Ami, I was home. Where else would I have been?" His question utterly confused me. It can't have been that long since we've seen each other. Can it? But back at the village everyone was preparing for the sacrifice.

"Home? You were at home all these days?" He looked perplexed by my words. Why does he sound so confused? "Little Raven, what is the last thing you remember?"

"We went to the swamp, we saw a tomb, you took me back home and then I passed out. The next thing I knew I woke up and the village was preparing for the sacrifice."

His brows knitted together at my words. "Raven, the sacrifice is in two days. If what you are telling me is correct about you passing out, you've been unconscious for ten days."

Ten days. I've been asleep for ten days. All thoughts I may have had left. I couldn't...... Oh Gods. What happened to me?
