A/N- oh my God! I am so sorry. For all those who have read this chapter already, I apologise. The version I posted before is not the completed chapter. Wattpad had a glitch and I lost half the chapter. This is the actual chapter. Once again I apologise. Please forgive me my wonderful readers.

Amon POV

Leaving the dungeon, I made my way back to my chambers. I wanted to clean up before I checked on Raven. My body was still caked in the blood and entrails of the villagers. I held my Raven with this filthy body. Thank the Kings for the blanket that covered her. Reaching my chambers, I found Marax pacing outside the doors, muttering softly to himself.

"Marax what seems to be troubling you?" I asked as I stepped around him to enter my room.

"Amon! Thank the Kings you returned. We need to talk." He exclaimed, losing his servant demeanor. Okay, that was a first.

"Yes I know you want answers. But can it please happen after I shower?"

"Oh. Right. Of course your majesty." He said bowing, leaving me alone in my chambers. For now.

After cleaning the grime from my body, I quickly dressed and was about to exit my chambers, only to almost walk into Marax. The fuck! Couldn't this demon wait to the side of the door instead of in front of it?

"Apologies your majesty. Didn't expect to see you emerge so quickly." He sounded anything but apologetic.

Sighing, I made my way down the castle halls and to the ancient chambers. Marax followed me intently. He wasn't going to leave me until I told him something. Or maybe even everything.

"Marax, what would you like to know?" I asked, keeping up my pace, greeting the passing servants on the way to the ancient chambers.

"Did you know that the Valac bloodline had an heir?"

"No and yes." I replied, "No at first, but then I found out later."

"And it's the human child you used to visit constantly." He stated.

Reaching the chambers, we stopped in front the door. Pushing the door open, I entered shutting the door behind Marax. For a few moments all I did was look at Raven. She was sprawled on the bed, her body glowing a faint red hue. With the energy humming off her body, her hair stood up as though electricity was passing through her body. I hope she isn't feeling any pain. I know to accept the throne you undergo tremendous pain. But when their own powers awaken, I don't know what she will feel.

"Your majesty?" Marax spoke softly. It was as though he didn't want to disturb me.

"Yes Marax." My eyes never left Raven.

"Are you that worried about her?"

What the hell kind of question is that? "Yes Marax I am. More than anything. I've cared for her for years. Didn't expect to develop feelings for her."

"Amon, can you finally tell me what is that mark on your chest?"

I never did tell him what the mark was. And he never did ask either. I'm guessing he was waiting for me to open up to him. I didn't feel the need to before. But now, due to our present situation, I'll have no choice.

Walking up to Raven, I pulled back the blanket just enough to reveal her chest, showing her marking but still covering her breast. Marax looked at her marking closely before his eyes widen.

"This is a mate mark. When the Valac heir has chosen their mate, a mark would appear on their body as well as that of their mate's. We got this marking almost two weeks ago, as you may remember. With this mark, the mates feel each other's pain and can also take it from each other. This is all what I was told by Ronove." I explained, covering back Raven's chest.

"Does this mean that you are abdicating the throne back to the Valac bloodline?" It was a genuine question. One I didn't have the answer to.

"If that is what she wants, then yes." That was the best answer I could have given.

He didn't question me after that. I settled myself on the floor next to the bed. I was going to stay right here the entire time until she awoke. I knew Marx wanted more answers but he didn't ask. After thirty minutes of waiting for me to say something, Marax excused himself for the night.

"I can't imagine what you are going through Raven. But if you can hear me, hurry back to me." I whispered softly to her. Keeping watch over her, this now became a waiting game.

Third Person's POV

Walking through the ruins of the village of Asra, Leraje kicked the rubble aside as he passed. He kept grumbling about false pretense and how hard he had worked for almost twenty years. He was the last Enchanter to the Kingdom of Raum, spending twenty years in the human village. First it was just to strip King Ronove of his crown, but after discovering he had fathered a half blood hybrid daughter, Leraje wanted her.

He did what ever he could to ensure she was hated by the villagers. Casting spells on everyone to create their hatred and intensify it. But the village chief, oh he was the easiest. He didn't even need a spell. His lust made his mind easy to twist. And now, everything was gone. All because of the beast of the forest. No. Not a beast. But a demon. The creature was a demon. And a very powerful one at that. How could he not have sensed it? How did the demon hide its demonic aura from an Enchanter as powerful as him? Leraje kept asking himself those questions. And the only answer he could come to was that the demon was a lot more powerful than him.

"If a powerful demon is hiding in Raum, I could loose my throne. I won't have that. I worked too hard to get it." He started to mumble to himself.  "Helphas that lustful son of a bitch just had to attack the little whore. All my waiting and I missed the opportunity to rape her. I wanted her power!"

Reaching the hut that Raven once occupied, Leraje stopped. It was the only building left standing in the entire village. Why would the demon destroy everything but leave that one hut? Furthermore, why did the demon even go on a rampage like that? Raven. That little girl was the key to everything. Sooner or later he will have her. Even if he has to force her powers out of her, he will have it all to himself, including her body to satisfy his needs.

"I think it's time I returned to Raum. See what I've have missed."

A sly smirk crawled onto his face as he reverted to his demonic form. In his demon form, Leraje was fifteen feet tall, with red scale like skin, two curling horns at the top of his head, a single row of sharp, jagged teeth in his mouth and sharp claws at the end of massive hands. With a quick swipe of his hand, he toppled Raven's hut, destroying the last structure of the village of Asra. With that done, he opened a portal to enter into Raum.

While the Kings have the power to create craters to relm jump, enchanters could create small portals to move from Raum to the human world. Stepping through the whirl wind like portal, Leraje left Asra, never to return.

The second the portal sealed itself shut, the land where Raven's hut once stood began to glow a purple hue.  Faint beams of purple light shot through the debris and curled in the sky, before falling back and disappearing into the earth once again.

A/N- Hey guys. I'm sorry for posting late. I had writers block. I had to re-read the entire book a few times just to write this chapter. I'm sorry if it doesn't meet the standards of the other chapters. But I promise the coming chapters will be better.

On another note, thank you for all the votes and reads I've been getting. You have no idea how happy they make me everyday when I check on the book. If I could, I would gladly give everyone a hug. Since I can't, here's a virtual one. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗.

Until next update. 😘😘
