AMON POV

Crimson eyes. Not the blue and red that I am used to seeing. I watched as Raven stood slowly, turned and made her way across the little distance between us. With her standing in front of me, I took in her new features brought on by the awakening of her powers. Her dark hair had gotten longer, brushing close to the ground. A red tint was streaking through her hair. Her pale skin had finally gotten some colour to it, giving it a rosy look. She looked as though she even grew a couple of inches in height, coming up to the bottom of my chin instead of by my chest.

Her body was still naked, clad in the blanket I had covered her in. Now it was wrapped around her, exposing her shoulders. Her mate mark was glowing a faint blue hue, and I'm positive if I looked down at mine, it would be glowing red. Reaching out tentatively to touch her face, I let my hand stop just a few inches from her. Why am I slightly afraid to touch her? I was never afraid to touch her.

Looking at me with those crimson eyes of hers, she took my hand and placed it on her cheek. Raven leaned into the touch. Without overthinking anymore, I grabbed her and brought our lips together. Cupping her face between both my hands, I deepened the kiss, bringing her body closer to mine, fully aware that only the blanket around her and my own clothing were seperating our bodies.

A part of me knew I shouldn't be doing this. She just woke up after being power comatose for three days. But I couldn't help it. And neither could she. Raven's teeth knicked my lower lip, enticing a lust filled groan from me. Removing my hands from her face, they travelled down the length of her body, stopping by her hips. I pulled her hips closer to mine, pressing my body against hers, deepening the kiss. Kissing her ravenously like a starved man having his first drop of water in years. Why am I suddenly acting like the demon beast I pretend to be? I'm never like this with her. Does it have something to do with her powers awaking? With me being her mate?

Raven pulled back to steady her breathing, leaning her head against my chest. Pressing my cheek against her soft hair, I tried to calm my own racing heart.

"Ami..." She whispered my name, pulling away slightly to look up at me. Her eyes had returned to their beautiful Cobalt blue and crimson red. "Where am I?"

This is it. Bracing myself for her reaction, I answered her. "Raum. You are in the demon city of Raum."

There was a pause of silence. The only things that made any kind of  sound were the gushing of the rivers and the howling of the wind. Raven was silent. And that's never a good sign. She pulled back from me all the way, taking a few steps back.

"How did I get here?" She sounded confused. Why would she be? Unless.....

"Raven, what do u remember last?"

She closed her eyes, thinking, speaking as she slowly recalled the events before I came for her.

"I remember the kidnapping. The beating. The sacrifice. Helphas attempt. You coming to get me." She paused for a few moments, looking up at me. "Did you really kill him and destroyed my village?"

"Yes. They left me with no other choice." I said without remorse.

She looked hurt. Be it either by me killing the jackass who almost raped her, or me destroying her village. I hope it was the latter.

"What else do you remember little Raven?" I persisted.

"I remember you holding me and then pain. Pain I can't even describe. Then nothing. I don't remember anything besides pain. And darkness."

I pulled her into my arms then. The pain she experienced during the change, I don't even know how she handled that pain. The pain I had to go through, was a paper cut, according to Ronove, compared to the pain the true heir goes through.

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry you had to go through that." Apologising, I stroked her back while she started to cry.

"Why? Why is it that I have to go through these things? Why was I shunned in the village that took my parents away? Why am I like this Ami? Tell me!" She sobbed. I knew she didn't really want an answer. But I will give her one anyway. It was time she finally knew the truth. About her family. About what she is. About who she is.

"It's not your fault. None of this is your fault. If anyone is to blame, it's your father."

She gave a dry laugh. "Too bad he's dead. Just like my mother."

The time has come. "He isn't dead. He be very much alive. And very much worried about you."

"Do not lie to me Amon." She pulled away from me once again, adjusting  the blanket over her shoulders.

"I have done a lot of things. But never have I lied to you. Withheld information from you, yes. But never lie to you." All she did was shake her head and move away from me.

"How can my father be alive and never bothered to come get me?" She questioned.

"Because he couldn't. He was imprisoned. For being with your mother."

She scoffed at my words. "And who imprisoned him Amon? Do tell."

"Me. I did. But that was before I knew he was your father."

"Amon stop with the lies! Why would my father be in a prison in your demon world?!" She shouted. The winds raging with her voice. With her anger. She didn't notice, but I did. I even noticed the way her hair lifted with her anger.

"Raven I told you before. I may have kept things from you, but I have never and will never lie to you." I made a reach to hold her hand, only for her to pull away from me.

"Do not touch me Amon. Not until you have explained everything to me." She glared at me. I know she's angry with me but I can help but just stare at her. She looked beautiful even in her anger.

"Fair enough. What do you want to know first little Raven?" I called her by my pet name for her just to irritate her further. I should honestly be afraid of the power she possesses now, but I'm not. No matter how much power she gains, or even if she decides to become the Queen of Raum, she will always be my little Raven.

"We are in Raum. The demon city that you told me humans can't survive in unless you put them in the house with breathable air. So then why can I breathe normally outside in the open."

Why did she have to ask me a hard question so quickly? She wants answers and she shall have it. "That's because you aren't human Raven."

She gave a dry laugh. "Not human? If I'm not human then what am I?"

"Demon. Well half demon. Your father that I was telling you about that is imprisoned. He's a full blooded demon."

All she did was gape at me, wide eyes and open mouth. She was that way for a few seconds, like the calm before the storm. I braced myself for the explosion.

"Demon?! Demon! Amon out of all the....."

I cut her off immediately. "Raven listen to me for once! Think about it! Your hair is raven black, your eyes are blue and red, your skin is pale. You are the opposite of your mother and the other villagers. Your healing abilities is something no human possess. So if you aren't human then what are you?!

"A half demon. And not just any half demon. One of the most powerful. Your father was once King Ronove Valac. Ruler of Raum. He was still the King at the time of your birth. Which means you are a princess. The rightful heir to the city of Raum. The true heir to the kingdom I rule over."

I shouted at her. I didn't mean to but at least it shut her up and got her to listen to me. She got me so riled up that I spilled everything about her heritage without giving her a proper chance to adjust. My only hope now is that she understands and accepts.
