Chapter 37: The Tonight Plan

Ethan's POV:

Things were changing and Becoming more violent in the camp.

Grounders showed up and told us that the army of the 12 clans surrounds our camp.

I watched as Bellamy shot two grounders on horses who were only delivering a message.

He's lost his humanity...

"Pike has made him lose his humanity." I say to Shawn who was hugging me.

"I know." He says to me softly as he comforted me.

We hear the radio click again as we head back to our secret meeting place with Kane and everyone else.

"Listen to this. Pike is meeting with everyone." Kane says as we listen in.

"We have spies in these camps. We need to find them and have them executed immediately. Monty, I want you to watch over camp wide surveillance. Start with Kane. He has to be behind this." Pike says to them.

"You want us to spy on our people?" Monty asks shocked.

I still can't believe he's working with Pike.

"I can't give an order without it getting leaked. We have traitors in this camp and they must be stopped. People died because of their actions. Do what it takes. Dismissed." Pike says to them.

Miller turns off the radio as we all sit in silence.

"If they are going to play that game we need to play it too." Kane says as he gets up.

"Meaning?" Harper asks him.

"We don't meet here again, for starters." Kane says to us. "We change our patterns. forget our habits. Take a different route through camp each time we go out. Assume that their are eyes on us at all times."

"How about we shock lash pikes fascist ass and give him up to the grounders." Harper suggests.

"I agree. Give him a taste of his own medicine. He deserves it after what he did to me." I say to them feeling the scars of the shock lash beating I got from Bellamy.

"That would be murder. Not to mention treason." Kane says to us. "And that's not who we are."

"Maybe it's who we need to be." Miller says to him.

"Not yet." Kane says to him.

"So what's the plan?" I ask him.

"We'll figure it out." Kane says as we all leave again secretly and move about on our daily business.

We get called back to me up again as Kane asks us if anyone followed us. We shook our heads and Kane tells us that Pike is sending at team in a rover to attack the grounders.

"How are we gonna stop this." Harper says.

"I might know a way." Kane says to us.

I walk with Kane as I help him carry out the plan. I wanted to do it since I hate Pike so much. He's taken the one that I love and I won't let him take anything else.

Shawn walks by me and says:

"Be careful okay?" Shawn says to me as we hug.

"I'll be okay. I promise." I say to him.

We both leave each other as I catch up to Kane.

We talk to Sinclair and then move on to the garage and silently watch as Sinclair goes under the rover and starts to mess with it.
