Part 1

That was the day when, led on by nothing except an impulse of curiosity, the teen decided to ride a train on the way home. It was not really that unusual, he often took the train to go home. However, the news reports about the recent train incidents would make one wary. Nevertheless, it was an indispensable transportation for the residents of a city with dense population.

The teen sighed, waiting for his ride to arrive along with other people who seemed to be busy on their own world.

It did not take too long for the dreaded time to come.

As if on cue, a loud screeching of metal was heard in the platform which was followed by a train that runs very fast for his eyes to see. The train made a sharp turn, much to his relief. But that didn't stop people from panicking.

'Shit shit shit!' ─ His thoughts ran wild and scrambled. Anyways, he had to get away from there! He's still a teen, full of energy and service. He didn't want to die that early! He shouldn't have jinxed it.

Despite his inner monologue, he ran as fast as he can to get away. Unfortunately for him, a wave of people soon rushed for the exit.

Part 2

It was a night somewhere in the beginning of April and a woman in a business suit came in without prior notice. Popping open the door, the old man saw her standing idly in the hallway, facing the entrance like some sort of servant-in-waiting.

"Good evening, Director." The woman curtly greeted before entering the room along with the heavy stack of papers her lithe hands carry with relative ease. "Here are the papers you asked for this afternoon." She added to further clarify.

The wide-eyed director cleared his throat and quickly muttered a thanks to the woman. The woman in mention was fairly attractive among his colleagues. She had long gray hair asymmetrically parted on her right side and brown eyes; a youth that was quite rare to see in the career of pursuing justice.

On a side note, the director himself was too old to pursue romance. It was not like he does care. His experiences had helped him many times in his career. But sometimes he couldn't help but be jealous on the youngsters energy and drive.

Both sides simply continued their work in silence until a voice gathered their attention. The two halt midway and shifted their gaze on the expensive TV in front of them.

The news flashed a footage of a train moving at an abnormal speed, causing the people waiting on the platform to scream in panic. It was a good thing they moved back fast enough to avoid being rammed in by the said train. The train flipped to its side resulting to severely damage the railways.

"That was direct footage from the accident. According to the police, the engineer's life was not in danger despite his injuries. After quarantining, even he could not explain its high speed when approaching the station. No further comments were made. Police are still looking for a possible motive." The news reporter said on TV.

"It's less of an operating accident and more of a crime to the company and the government. Site inspectors apparently reported all of this six months ago-- and deterioration it tracks and the ATC. Seems the railway company and the Ministry of Transport both turned a blind eye on the truth. There's no way they can hide. This will go all the way to the top." The bald man spoke as his eyes glint with interest.

"Now on to our main story, with this accident as well as other incidents with unknown motive, concern is spreading among the general public. Just what could be causing such a drastic change so suddenly in these people...? SNN--"

"Everything's linked─ that's what you're thinking, correct?" The man asked the woman on his side, "...Ah well. Are you free? You and I haven't gone for a drink in a while."
