Part 1

The absence of the moon and stars made the streets of Yongen-Jaya almost pitch dark. The wind passed by, as the trees and plants swing playfully. Plus the lack of passengers made the road of Yongen really calming. In the quiet streets, Ren shuffled his feet towards the cafe, shoulder hunched back and head down, drowning in his own thoughts.

Until muffled footsteps were heard. A shadowy figure appeared, heading to the opposite destination of him.

The cat in his school bag poked its head out and saw a glimpse of something, gaining his attention.

His eyes widened immediately as he foreshadowed a few dangerous situations in his mind, and the next second, he poked the shoulder of the raven-haired with his tiny claw.

"Hey, Ren.” He points with his paw. Look."

Ren snapped out from his mind. His eyes followed Morgana’s claw and saw something alarming. A bright red dot stood out from the dark and abandoned building blocks away from them. He could barely make out a shadowy figure and it was clear it was a sniper.

"Don't you think it's pointing out to that girl?"

Hearing his words, he was in an instant alarmed state and shifted his gaze to the person in front of him. Shifting his view alernately from the pointer to the position of the girl, he noticed that it was aiming for the girl.

Even if it was so far he felt his senses sharpened and heard the trigger being pulled.

The girl was purely distracted. Her face was covered with a book, probably trying to make out the words she was trying to read and doing it quite nicely.

Knowing that the girl was awfully insensitive, the boy dashed to the girl as if it was his instinct. He immediately grabbed her by the waist, causing her to gasp as a reaction and dropped her book in the process. He tightly embraced her, to make it easy for him to move her body away from the bullet. His body was tightly pressed against the girl's petite figure.

The girl felt his body was quite hard and even slightly masculine. On the other hand, Ren felt her chest pressed against his.

But that's not important now, he in a heartbeat, pushed her body against the wall, quite far away from the aim of the pointer, thus, saving her from being shot.

He glared at the source of the bullet, but soon shifted his gaze back to the girl to ensure her safety.

In between the silence, the moonlight started to peek from the clouds.

If it was not the situation, Ren definitely looked like he pinned the girl to the wall.

A ray of moonlight slowly shines their face. He stared at the girl and she stared back with eyes, still full of surprise but as he stared, it felt relaxing.

There was a flicker of blue in those wide eyes.

Ren unconsciously gently brushed few locks of the girl's snowy white hair. Slowly, he caressed her cheeks and looked at her so dearly with a sick worried face.

"Are you alright?" She felt the pang of anxiety in that question. She nodded slowly.

The girl stared at his eyes ever so gently, filled with admiration. She felt at comfort in his embrace.

Somewhere afar in a high building, the sniper watched the two with his scope. His face was unseen, and only his shadow was supporting his presence. He bent his knees down to wipe his fingerprints in his rifle before making his way down the building.

The silence within the two was broken by themselves, as the girl spoke.

"Call the police."

She was supposed to yell it to the boy, but it sounded a lot gentle compared on how she commands and bosses around with the police.
