He walks over to me again with another bracelet and I panic, I pick up a rock by my hand and throw it at him. He blocks it and sees the tears in my eyes, "You can't run off again, understand?" I nod my head and he puts the bracelet back into a bag and holds out his hand. "I am are not going to hurt you, but I need you to come with me." I feel like a kid in a custody battle, being tossed around to different people every 5 minuets, "I don't want to go with those other people, I don't want to go to Yacan or Vripia!" I started to cry again, he just picks me up teleports us back to the palace into the bedroom that I was in before and he sets me on a chair. "I will be outside, I'm trusting you not to run away. Can you get changed back into that dress before?" I nod my head, I know I can't get out of this now, he leaves the room and Skye comes out of hiding.
She looks at me with wide eyes, "HOW ARE WE IN THE PALACE??? ARE YOU SOME KIND OF PRINCESS THAT KEEPS RUNNING AWAY?!?!!?"
Well that hurt my ears a little, but I give her the 'turn around or get hurt' look and she obeyed. I get dressed in the nice violet dress again and look in the mirror and noticed that my right eye has the same type of glow as my fathers red ones. So one eye is two different colors and the other purple one glows, I didn't know that, cool. Then there's some knocking on the door, "Elodie, are you done yet?" Skye flys back into my hair to hide and I just walk over and try to open the door, but I can't reach! The king opens the door to see me trying to open it myself and he chuckles and picks me up and teleports us to a larger type of living room.
He sets me down in a chair and leans over to be at my eye level and holds out his hand, "My name is Michal Bright, but for now you can call me Michal." I hesitated but shook his hand and he smiled, "I'll be right back, stay, here." He said those last two words in the kind of voice my mom would say when I was about to get in trouble, "ok.." He smiles and walks out of the room, I just realized that was the first thing I said to him. A few minutes pass and I'm bored already, Skye peeks out of my hair and flys out in front of my face and looks at me with bug eyes again,
"...... that was the king, THE KING TOLD YOU TO CALL HIM BY HIS FIRST NAME!!!! WHO ARE YOU RELATED TO?!?!"
My ears and cheek hurts because she was pinching it, "I'm not sure... my mom and dad died and they brought me here.." Technically that is true, I'm still not sure the Yacan king is my grandfather. The doors leading to the room only start to open when Skye dashes back into my hair yet again, "you know before i meet you i never would have heard that" That's probably from being so close to me, before a fairy can form a contract they. Have to be around the one they wish to form a contract with, depending on how powerful the one the want to have a contract with, in some cases it can take up to a month. But seeing how Skye can already use some of my abilities, it might only take a week and a half for us.
The door opens and Michal and Theo walks in and Theo's face lights up, "See father! I told you she was real!" His father laughs, "I know son, this is Elodie, she's going to be staying with us until you both go off to school next year." I guess he was listening when I said I didn't want to leave, Theo is very happy that I will staying and runs up to me and holds out his pinky, "promise that we will be friends forever and we will never stay mad at each other, unless we deserve it!" I look at him for a few seconds, but do make the pinky promise with him after he starts to look a bit worried probably thinking that I wouldn't accept it. He looks relived and I smile saying, "I promise Theo."
At the moment I don't really have any other options, I almost made it out and was ambushed by wolfs, there's some very yelling down the hall and Michal walks to the door quickly. "Both of you, stay here, alright?" Theo and I nod our heads, the angry parent voice is something not to be messed with, he closes the doors behind him and my and Theo are left in the room with muffled yelling sounds. He turns to me and says, "So what do you want to do? My father says that we're not allowed to play hide and seek, do you want to just talk? We have almost a year before we go off to school." I simply nod my head, I don't have anything else to do.
We sit down on the carpet and it is SO SOFT AND FLUFFY!!! "You can take off your shoes here, we don't usually wear them when we're in a room with nice carpet." He walks over to the door and puts his shoes by the door and I follow him, right when I turn around the door opens and I turn thinking it was Michal, it wasn't. It was the other man with red eyes, he looked at me with loving eyes and takes a step towards me, I don't hesitate and teleport near Theo and hide behind him.
He looks sad, I feel bad but I don't know if he is my father or uncle or whatever, Michal teleports in front of the man, "Go back to the conference room Samuel." He's really angry, I look at Theo and he looks shocked, he's probably never seen his father this angry. The man named Samuel isn't fazed though because he still looks sad, Theo turns to me, takes my hand and leads us out of another door I didn't see before and we leave the room. I didn't realize it before but I'm shaking, before we leave the room my grandfather runs up, but by this time me and Theo have left the room, I don't think he has even seen my eyes yet. My grandmother and mother were the only ones with a violet colored eye, my three aunts and uncle all have mismatched eyes but they are all rose gold and light blue.
Theo walks me back to the library and summons our shoes, turns to me and says, "You looked really happy when we were here before, so I thought you might want to read something, that's what I do when I'm lonely." He says smiling looking concerned, probably hoping I don't start crying again and hands me my shoes, "Thank you Theo." He seemed pleased with that response and uses magic to take down some books, but I turn to see a grand piano towards the end of the room hiding behind some bookshelves. I walk over to it and see that there's a thick layer of dust covering it, I dust off the seat and for some reason I just knew what keys to play and start playing Dancing on My Own (Acoustic) by Calum Scott. I don't sing the lyrics but play the piano portion of the song.
During those 4 minuets Theo is just staring at me in aww like he has never heard music before. Afterwards he looks at me and says, "Can you keep playing please?" I smile and do just that, and I keep playing it for about 20 more minuets until Theo turns around and I see that the door is starting to open, I jump off the bench, grab his hand and teleport us to the third level of the library as Michal walks in with the woman named Octavia. "Theo! Elodie! Come out now we have some news for you!" Theo starts to clime down the ladder and I follow after he gets down onto the second level. Once Theo gets down to the ground floor he runs over to the both of them.
"Mother! Father!" Theo says as he hugs his parents, as I start to go down the last ladder my foot slips and without thinking I teleport closer to the ground and Theo runs over to me yelling, "Elodie! Are you alright?!" It's cute that he's this concerned, "I'm ok Theo." I say chuckling, his parents smile at the two of us, "Elodie are you alright with staying with us?" She almost sounds scared that I will say no, I simply nod my head and they both smile, "Who was playing the piano early? I don't think I've heard that thing since Anna was here." He looks almost sad, "Was I not supposed to play with it? I'm sorry." His expression changes and looks happy and a little surprised, had it really not been used since my mother was here? That would have been over 5 years ago.
"No no it's alright dear, it's nice to hear it again." Octavia says with a gentle but sad smile, "Father, is it time for dinner yet?" Michal's face says it all and what it says is 'oh crap' which makes me think that I'm going to have to spend the evening with the part of my family who are fighting over me, great.... "Ye- yes it is actually, umm Theo go ahead with your mother I need to talk to Elodie for a moment." Theo is reluctant, but obeys and goes with Octavia, after they leave Michal bends down to meet my eyes. "Alright, ummm... So there might be some arguments at the table and there might not be, but I need you not to run off unless I tell you to, ok?" I nod my head again because it's all I can really do.
He holds my hand and we start to walk to the dinning room, "There are also three other children here as well, do you know who they are?" I look up to him, "They are my half siblings?" I say as if it were a question, "He looks at me shocked, "Na- no, who told you that though?" Now I confused, I thought that was my father? "But the man with red eyes called me his daughter, and he had the same eyes as them. And the older man with blue eyes called me his granddaughter, is that true? Is he my grandfather?" I look at Michal inquisitively, but he doesn't have time to answer because by the time I finish my sentence we are at the doorway that leads to the dinning room. And as we walk in, all eyes are on me.
This is going to be the longest dinner I have ever had in my life.
