Peter woke up the next morning with an arm cramp; he rolled his shoulder as he sat up on his bed. This weekend was eventful but now, unfortunately, it's another school week. Luckily, the last one before spring break but nonetheless, he's still dreading going. With the amount of stress in his life, school is the last thing on his mind. He's smart, he has some street smarts but he's also a superhero, maybe dropping out of school eventually wouldn't be the worst thing.
Peter sniffed the air, sensing Aunt May was cooking breakfast. There wasn't any sign of smoke so that's a plus to this morning. He put on his watch Tony gave him and looked on the map of Queens if there was any trouble this morning."You're going to school," May peaked through the door, as if she had a sixth sense.
Peter nodded and pressed his finger to his lips, motioning up to a still sleeping Sophia. May swooped away as quickly as she appeared and Peter walked over to his closet. He pushed some sweaters on hangers to the side, pausing at his suit. He bit his lip and ran his hand over the dirty material; it feels like it has been so long since he has felt the material cling to his body. He feels euphoric slinging around the city, helping his neighborhood, that much is obvious but maybe he should consider what Tony has been telling him. His heart isn't cut out for this but he does know he's strong, he knows Tony believes in him and with that maybe his heart will settle in the right place. Peter chewed on his lip more and pushed the suit aside; one problem at a time, Sophia had an issue last night.
Sophia,
Peter turned to look at his sleeping friend, so peaceful opposed to her distressed voice last night. He scratched his stomach and walked over to the bunk bed. Peter hopped onto his mattress and gripped the bar protecting the person occupying the bed. He shook her arm gently,"Morning, Soph."
Sophia cracked an eye open moaning, she gripped the bar of the top bunk as she buried her face back into her pillow. Peter held onto the bar with his right hand as he poked at her head. He jumped off the mattress when he was shocked; startled from the sudden burst of electricity. He stared up at her from a lower level,
"Did...did you just shock me?"
Sophia sat up, her hair a mess, "I'm so sorry."
Peter chuckled as he rubbed his hand, he walked over to his dresser and slid on a shirt.
"I know you don't mean it intentionally. Unfortunately, the electricity is apart of your emotions."
Sophia rubbed her face, huffing into her hands,
"What if it is intentional? What if it takes over me?""Will you stop that," Peter frowned walking over to her, "with power comes great responsibility and with responsibility you're aware of your powers. You're smart, you don't want to hurt people. You won't be-..."
"My father, I know. It just feels like everything is saying otherwise."
"Stop listening then," he rubbed her arm and went to get changed into his jeans,
"Aunt May made breakfast, why don't you go eat something before we go catch the subway?"Sophia raised an eyebrow but noticed Peter clutching his jeans as he watched her expectantly. She got the hint and clambered down the cold, metal ladder, grabbing some clothes before heading towards the door. Peter watched her leave then began to change again.
Once he emerged, he ate with the pair and then left for school. Not before May gave them both inspections, too many kisses for Peter and a long hug for Sophia.

"Not sure," Sophia looked to her side while they stood on the subway, "I see the way she worries about you."
Peter looked down at her, she was clutching his arm so she didn't have to hold onto the metal pole and risk shocking some poor pedestrians. He flexed his bicep as she tightened her grip during stops,
"Are you flexing?"
"No," he smirked.
Sophia smiled to herself and tucked her blushed cheek into her shoulder as she looked away again.
"I just couldn't tell because it's not much."
Peter gasped and prodded at her side, "Liar!"
"Yeah, writing down all those Mathlete equations really defined them well," she teased.
The pair laughed as Peter tickled Sophia in the middle of the commuter train as they made their way to school. To any of the people on this train, they looked like two normal teens happy without a care in the world. For the pair, this moment of joking and teasing was a lift to their spirits that they've both been searching for since they've met and have opened up each others darknesses.
