Peter walked down the hallway with Ned chatting about the Star Wars marathon tonight. Michelle listened to the pair as she followed behind; reading War and Peace absentmindedly.
This week hasn't been as awful as Peter had been dreading. Ever since Aunt May discovered Sophia had powers too, she's been very understanding.Which is somewhat unfair because she gave Peter such a hard time about being safe when she found him in his suit. Truthfully, when Peter thinks about it, it is May's job to worry for him. Seems like every adult in his life is here to worry for him. For Sophia, she has had it rough these past few months, May feels sorry for the sudden obstacles thrown at the poor teen. Which definitely explains why she's taking it easy on lecturing her about safety. May still gives her looks if she's playing with her powers at the table and Peter just reassures his aunt that she has them under control. Except for when she's mad...Which may be right now.Peter paused walking, reaching his arm out to stop Ned in his tracks too. The other boy wasn't paying attention, too busy yapping about the many languages C3-PO can speak, to stop himself from ramming into Peter's arm. He was 'clothes-lined' by the extended arm, the bigger boy grabbed at his neck dramatically after making an unnecessary gagging noise.
"Dude, relax."
"Dude," Ned whined, "you wounded me!"
Peter shoved him playfully to get him to shut up and gestured to the scene playing out in front of them; but it was more off to the side because it was a conversation by some lockers.
Sophia was there, facing in the direction of the trio that was watching her intensely; Peter, Ned and Michelle. Blocking her view of the observant trio was the trio of girls Peter saw talking to Sophia around the time they first started becoming friends. The ones she reassured him weren't bullying her. This situation now seemed like she was lying before, as the one on the side leaning her shoulder against the lockers spoke. She didn't seem to want to make this a show, she wanted to talk to Sophia closely and make her insults burn instead of embarrass."Admit it," Cheryl whispered menacingly.
"Why, do you know how insane that sounds?"
Peter picked up on Sophia's shaking voice from down the hall and felt his hairs raise when he focused in on her. His Spidey sense, warning him that there's danger. If he couldn't hear or see Sophia's upset face, his senses would be a clear indication that something is wrong over there. Ned shoved him by slapping at his shoulder, trying to get him to explain what they were talking about. He brushed him off and started to slowly approach as this continued to play out,
Cheryl laughed looking the left at her minions before continuing,
"You killed your father because he abused you."Sophia placed her left hand on her locker to stabilize herself,
"Shut up, Cheryl. You have no idea what I've been through.""Oh I know, you were weak, abused and one day you snapped and killed your father. Somehow you got away with it and yet, it still doesn't make you strong. You were too weak to be beaten into shape so you did the cowardly thing to do."
Sophia's eyes turned neon blue. Her rage is coursing through her now,
"I'm going to stop you right there, Cheryl. You did get one thing right. You're right about knowing what happened to me but you have no fucking clue as to what I'm capable of."
With that venom seeping off of Sophia's lips, a course of electricity shot through the lockers. Knocking Cheryl onto the ground and a couple metal doors to swing open. Peter rushed to Sophia's side and grabbed at her right arm with a clenched fist at her side,
