Sophia found herself outside the giant, well known science center in downtown Manhattan; known as OSCORP. Eric gave Sophia the address the night they met and told her to stop by when she's feeling lost.

So, here she is. She told Peter she was going on a photography field trip, to ensure he doesn't sneak around to follow her if she sounded suspicious. Luckily, he believed her and she shouldn't feel bad for lying but she wants help and that shouldn't just mean settling for the Avengers. Someone else is willing to help her understand herself but for some reason she has an aching feeling in the pit of her stomach; like she should just turn and run. As she stumbled back a little on the curb, Eric appeared in front of her strutting out with a click of his dress shoes.

"Follow me."

With that command, her feet moved with his voice into the building.

"OSCORP was government funded until we, HYDRA, took over the payments. We bought the US government out of its multimillion dollar science center, right here in New York."

"What's HYDRA?"

Eric gave Sophia a glance as he led her through the brightly lit linoleum halls of OSCORP,

"We help people of your kind. We take you and use you to your fullest potential and now with the help of this building's newest technological advances. We can help not only psychology but physically."

"What do you mean by physical?"

"It's a creation beyond this world, created by a Doctor who you might've passed on the streets, mistaking him for just another citizen. Yet, the brain he has works in ways we never could've known."

Eric pushes the doors open to the busy research room and Sophia's eyes fell onto a vat in the middle of it. A black tar swirled around in the glass in an animalistic way. Sophia kept her eyes locked on the liquid as she followed Eric up the metal steps that turned into a platform that encircled the vat.

"This creation is called a symbiote. It can enhance everything you are," Eric purred as he placed his hand on the cool glass.

"How does it work," Sophia touched the glass as well.

"It's like your protective gloves," he tapped her leather hand and moved away from her, "it takes care of you but it's underneath. Unnoticeable but will come out when you need it to."

Sophia nodded and turned back to Eric, "why me? Is this safe?"

"You would be our first person to try but the animals tested well," he stated as Sophia's face crinkled at the animal testing.

"So, it worked well with the literal Guinea pigs?"

Sophia's playful smile dropped back to serious when Eric stared at her; his lips barely quirking into a smirk.

"Right," she cleared her throat, "I would just need to talk to my-..Peter."

"Is he your keeper?"

Sophia thought for a moment then hummed her reply, "in a way, yes."

The brooding man snapped his fingers and a man in a lab coat approached the pair with a small tube filled with a portion of the black tar. He examined it before directing his gaze back to Sophia. Eric placed the symbiote in Sophia's hands and held his own there,

"Get back to me when you're done becoming a superhero based off of other's ideas and ready to be your own super human relying on your strengths."

"With some help with science?"

"With some help, indeed."

Eric stood up straight again and before Sophia could even move to think about her options; the possible chance that she is turning against Tony and the Avengers. The black symbiote inched it's way out of the lidless tube and wrapped itself around her hand and traveled up the expanse of her arm. She felt restricted, like a boa cutting off her air supply, as the oozing material engulfed her body then she felt it slowly release as it melted into her skin.

"What was that," she panicked and touched her flesh; feeling no difference but seeing her veins shine a brighter blue as she turned her arm around.

"He likes you."

Sophia's eyes were wide and she backed up quickly, "what do I do with this?"

"Let it take over when you need to use your powers. I know it's weakness is electricity but I think being able to attach to you could strengthen it if it has zero weakness."

"Can I go?"

"We'll be in touch."
