"You knew all along, Shin?" Ranfa was so surprised by this fact! She didn't know Shin was already way ahead of her!
"It was when I confronted Toma." Shin explained to her.
Toma had taken Ranfa to the Maid's Sheep cafe to talk to Shin. It turned out Shin knew the truth about Michiyo being Ranfa all along during the day he came to confront Toma about her.
"No wonder you gave me that photo. Thank you, Shin."
"I should have known you would have betrayed me, Shin." Toma faked an annoyed tone of voice. He was initially annoyed, but now that part of the truth had came out, he felt less angry about the betrayal.
"If I can't make you feel like you can trust me, how was I supposed to help Ranfa in my own way? I need you to believe me in order for me to give her a clue."
"You could have just told her directly." Toma argued.
"I could have. But I was worried if she would tell you beforehand. Everything worked out in the end."
Ranfa smiled a little at Shin's words. From the corner of her eyes, she saw Ikki leaving the kitchen and going to the locker room. She excused herself from Toma and Shin, lying about needing to go to the toilet. She needed to speak to Ikki!
Now alone with Shin, Toma felt the need to talk to Shin properly; though the victim in this situation was Ranfa, it didn't change the fact Shin's hope of Michiyo returning to him went from a slight chance to unknown yet again. "Shin..."
"It's not your fault, Toma." Shin answered while drinking his melon soda. "When you told me who she really is, I already decided it's now impossible for her to come back to us. Ranfa coming back is already a miracle in itself, I can't be greedy and expect another miracle."
"Michiyo, she..."
"Ah. I've already decided what to do about it." The first thing Toma thought was what was there to decide on? There's nothing to do but to let go of a small wish and walk on without looking back. Toma really do feel guilty about it all. For the sake of protecting Ranfa from the very beginning, he ended up pulling on Shin's hope only then dropping it from skyhigh in the very end.
"I'm so sorry." Toma apologized to his friend.
"Is Ranfa happy?"
"Huh?"
"If you want me to forgive you, you better treat her as Ranfa, not as Michiyo."
"I'm...I am probably the last person to ever make her happy. I've did a lot of wrong to her, wrongs that are so wrong that I don't even deserve to be the man by her side. Even so...the only way I can feel redemption is to stay by her side forever."
"The hell did you even do to her that lead you to be this dramatic?" Shin asked him.
"...the worst thing a man can ever do to a woman."
The ice in Shin's drink clinked against the glass once. Shin stared at Toma for a good while as he took in what Toma had just said.
Ranfa was a little afraid, but she took a deep breath in and and she knocked on the door to the locker room.
"Kent? Did you need something-" When Ikki opened the door, he was a little shocked to see the blue haired girl. He looked at her for a good while before he opened his mouth to let words out again. "Ranfa-san...?" Ranfa and Michiyo might share the same face, but he was able to tell between the two, even if they dyed their hair to one another's color.
