Chapter 9 - Wants and Kneeds
Breath...Breath Aria! Oh dear god, I am so unfit. My legs felt like someone was trying to grate them, as I continued running , barely even completing half of the track.
"Aria! No slacking, run faster!!," coach yelled. Calm your tits you mother fu- wooh Aria don't loose your chill.
"Ye- yes sir," I replied, trying to catch my breath.
Okay you got this, just a little bit left, come on...who am I kidding? I'm at the back of the group, sounding and probably looking like an asthmatic marshmallow.
'Okay, you got this, run like Zac Efron is waiting at the finish line', Its funny how my legs just instantly started to push that little bit harder, allowing my self to get to the centre of the group, instead of lagging behind.
This class kind of scared me as it had so many different personalities and cliques, they all stayed separated, as expected.
Lewis had his friends at the very front, I was sure he was part of the populars, but there was also Conner, was he popular too? Tyler was with Adam and some other guys I didn't recognize, Although they weren't part of the 'mainstream popular' crew, they still had girls fawning over them and never seemed to be the lonely type.
It dawned on me then how little I knew about everyone here, I had spent so less time at Blakehill highschool and had already gotten myself too involved, I needed to keep my head down.
To my relief my feet finally found the end of the track, I was fully aware that I looked like a hot mess..minus the hot part. With my messy bun leaning completely on the messy side and my face resembling a tomato.
Every so often I caught Tyler glancing back at me and with his knowing smiles, but I only acknowledged him with a slight nod, I had to be careful with this group being so diverse - anyone could catch his look, and the last thing I wanted right now was more drama.
Lewis kept an eye on me too, asking if I was okay and trying to make mindless talk, but it was nothing out of the ordinary. What caught me off guard the most was Conner. He kept giving me these arrogant smirks, like he knew something hilarious. I wanted to slap that look of his face, preferably with a frozen fish....that would hurt right?!
When I had actually had enough of his face and his constant antics to catch my gaze, I felt my warning signals go off, stay cool Aria!.
I should really get my anger checked out... meh I'll sort it out one day.
I suddenly locked gazes with him, neither of us willing to back down, why wont he stop staring? We stood there, frozen in my own confused thoughts, I couldn't take it anymore. I marched a few steps forward, still allowing a good distance between us and my voice held a heavy annoyance,
"What?!"
He smiled, almost cynically and placed his hands deep into his pockets.
"Nothing,"he replied, simply.
Then he looked away, leaning into his friends ear, whispering a little too loud.
"Told you, she wants me."
