"ARIANA YOU GET BACK HERE NOW!" my dad was cowering, he was pissed I could think of such a thing to move away at seventeen, I was angry too, "DAD, MY BIRTHDAY IS IN TWO DAYS, YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE PROTECTIVE OF ME ANYMORE, I'M DONE, I LOVE YOU DAD, BUT IT'S TIME FOR ME TO LEAVE." I pick up my last box, I grab my coat and sling my purse on around my shoulder, I storm out of the front door, and I slam the door shut, I walked angrily towards the moving truck, I threw my box on the passenger's seat, and I also slammed the door shut on that too, as hard as I could, then I broke, I hit my hands on the steering wheel, I couldn't take it anymore, then I hear knocking on my window, it was my dad, "GO AWAY DAD." he has two boxes, he asks me, "Could you at least roll down your window?" I obey, he hands me the boxes, and he says, "The first one I gave you was your lunch, I don't know how long it's going to take you to get to your "Final" destination, and the second box is from your mother, before she died she wanted me to give this to you on your 18th birthday, but I'm not going to see that now, oh well, Ari, call me if anything bizzare is happening, I want to see it with my good eye straight and upclose and personal up it's bussiness, I love you Ari, Stay safe for me and your mother, she'll be looking down on you from up above." he hands me a letter, and he just walks away, and I'm just fixated on his strut, I immedently stop looking when he closes the door, and that's the end, no more left to say but "I'm Sorry.", then a knocking comes from my passenger side window, it's just Emily, my best friend/next door neighbor. She yells through the glass, "SEE YOU THERE ARI!" I give her a quick thumbs up and I put the boxes and the letter on the passenger side, I don't want anybody in here right now, I check my rearview mirrors, my blinkers, and check to see in my car is still in the back of the moving truck, I imaginably thumbs up my self, and I drive, before I exited the driveway, I popped my head out of the window and said, "SEE YA THERE TOO EMILY, FREE AT LAST! WHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!" and I drove as fast as I could out onto the highway.
I kept driving nonstop, I didn't want to stop, but I came down to this house, it was like a dream come true, the house was yellow with white trim and a porch with shade, 3 garages, a lake and a pool, a shed and a beautifully painted picketed fence, one board had a moon on it and the other a grass plain and one with graffiti, there was dates on the boards, 2010, 2000, 1987, they were all pretty I was admiring everyone, I parked the moving truck on the long black tarred driveway, got out of the car and just sat in front of the picketed fence, I saw five boards, three of them were halfway done, two left blank, I lay back onto the grass, closing my eyes on the way back, I hit the ground, feeling the moist dirt, it feels like a cloud, then I open my eyes and I see a dark figure, I'm not scared, the sun's shining on them, I know they aren't a threat, I get up and see who it is, he's a boy, dark brown hair, green/hazel eyes, easy to fall in love with, great build, his fashion sense is impeccable, and I think Iive fallen in serious love, he emerges, he takes my hand and leads me to the porch, were sitting on the wooden love seat swing on the end of the porch, he lets go of my hand, he moves a little bit to the end of the seat, and he starts speaking, "Welcome Ariana! My name is Alex, and we call this place Paradise, I'm currently working on the sign as we speak, and I understand that you'll be staying here? and that your birthday is coming up soon?" I blush, "Yes, my birthday is in two days, I'll be 18." He smiles at me, he grabs both of my hands, and says "Congratulations, and to let you know, we are a strict household, not very strict we have many rules, please consider the following, one, no drugs, alcohol, smoking, and nothing unusual, nothing freaky, two, no fighting, if you have to, take it somewhere else, outside the premises, three, no rude gossip about others, four, do your share of work, five, keep your chambers clean at all times, six, no freaky pets, no small rodents,(He leans over and whispers "We had a tenant bring in a mouse and it got loose and apparently it was pregnant, we fumigated the house two summers ago, so you're going to be just fine, I'm not going to point any fingers though but, it was Scarlett, my girlfriend, her mouse's name was Rascal, Scarlett thought it was a boy at first." my heart sank, and he continues.) seven, close to the same thing as gossip, no drama, movies are allowed,(he nudges me, I laugh a little...) and if you're going to talk about boys, do it in your chambers, and rule eight, have fun! there are many more rules, if you want to check them out they're hanging in the living room and there's a pamphlet waiting for you in your room, have fun!" Alex gets up and walks away, a girl comes out of the door, I can tell that's Scarlett, she has red hair, and she goes over to Alex and she grabs him and starts making out with him, I'm literally disgusted and sad, I walk over to them and I tap Alex on the shoulder, he says "What?" I look at him like he's an idiot, but then Scarlett looks into my eyes and says,"Who's the fresh meat?" I blow her off and say "Alex I need your help unpacking, can you take a break and help me?" he smiles again and says "Sure Ari, we need to move your car first, and then we'll get inside the truck and help you unpack, my friend Derrick should be here shortly, DERRICK! in the mean time take anything out of the front seats of the truck and bring them inside, your room is upstairs in the middle, mine is on the right and Emily's on the left and Scarlett is on the far right and Derrick is on the far left. Let's get to unpacking!" he winks at me he hand signals me for the keys to my car and to the truck and the locks, and he runs over to the car, I don't know what else he is doing because because my attention is now on Scarlett. She gives me the stink eye, and points her finger onto my chest, and she speaks in her meanest voice ever, "You try anything on Alex and I will personally make your life a living hell."
