Jimin wasn't one to complain. He'd rather keep his problems inside and deal with them on his own than have to worry the people around him. It's probably that, paired with his hard working attitude, that led him to denying the fact he was sick. Like, really, really sick.
He'd been getting sicker and sicker ever since the promotion for their new comeback started. The lack of sleep as well as the dieting and long practices had really taken a toll on his body.
His band members had obviously noticed something off about him but Jimin always brushed it off when they questioned him about it. "I'm fine hyung, I just didn't sleep well" and "I'm okay, just a little hungry" were some of the excuses he had come up with to cover the fact he was actually getting quite sick. The hardest symptom to hide however was the horrible spouts of coughing that would occasionally make him seem as though he was trying to throw up a lung. He still managed to keep his members from worrying though (he would just pass it off as choking on something).
He was now awake at around 5AM, drenched in sweat and panting. His chest hurt so much that he would flinch in pain at each intake of air. He didn't know what woke him up but he wished he never had. His body felt so weak and his limbs so heavy, he could barely move. His vision was hazy and his mind muddled by both sleep and the quickly rising fever he was still set on ignoring.
Silent tears slid down his soft cheeks, too exhausted to keep them from falling. Jimin felt absolutely miserable.
He finally fell back asleep after about 15 minutes had passed, only to be woken up around two hours later by his eldest hyung's voice telling him he should get ready.
Jimin begrudgingly got out of bed and slowly made his way into the empty bathroom to quickly shower and go through his morning routine.
The vocalist was quick to realize showering wouldn't be an easy task as he nearly fell over as he started the water. 'Aish, this is ridiculous. I can't even stand without toppling over.' the dancer thought as he slowly entered the shower, leaning on the wall out of fear of falling down.
He quickly finished his shower and only when he went to brush his teeth, did he notice just how ill he looked. His face was awfully pale, contrasting immensely with the dark bags under his eyes. His normally soft, pink colored lips were now chapped and blended with his sickly pale complexion. Yeah, no way Seokjin would let him go out to practice looking this sick.
He was thinking of a way to cover up his pale appearance when he heard a loud knock at the bathroom door followed by a grumpy Yoongi telling him to "hurry the hell up before we leave without you.".
Jimin quickly reached for his discarded towel and vigorously rubbed it over his face, leaving his cheeks blotchy red from irritation. At least like this, his band members wouldn't be able to see his almost ghostly appearance.
He quickly left the bathroom and made his way to the living room where the rest of the boys were.
"The van should be there any minute now. Did you eat anything yet?" Seokjin asked him, eyeing Jimin suspiciously.
"U-uh no, not yet." The sick boy mumbled out, mentally cursing his weak body for the stutter it accidentally let out and for the softness of his voice.
Hoseok quickly made his way into the kitchen and came back, handing Jimin two protein bars and a bottle of orange juice. Just as he handed them, the van pulled up in front of the dorm.
"Eat that in the van, alright?" Hoseok asked him with a faint smile. Jimin didn't miss the worry in his hyung's eyes.
