Becca was pushing her cart, which contained her trunk, owl, and cat, down the King's Cross Station platforms. People bustling about their business, kids screaming, whining, laughing, and sleeping. Babies crying, couples giving good-bye kisses, and others crying. Becca and her family got to the bridge where Becca was supposed to cross.

"This is where we is as far as we can go." Mrs.Smith said tearfully.

"Why?" asked Becca.

"Only wizards and witches can get onto the platform," Mrs.Smith then quickly added after everyone's looks, "That McGonagall cat woman told me before she left after dropping off Becca." Everyone nodded and Becca gave hugs to everyone. When she got to the twins, she hugged both of them at the same time.

"For the first time in our lives.." John started.

"We want to be in your shoes." Chase finished.

"And we are jealous....a little." Becca smiled even brighter.

"I'm happy to hear that. 'Bye! Love you guys!" Becca said as she started walking to the end of the bridge. She waved and they waved back. As she started inching towards platforms 9 and 10, a conductor pulled her aside.

"Where are your parents, young lady?" The conductor asked.

"My parents couldn't make it to the train station. I had to meet my friends here. That's all, sir. Good day to you." Becca started leaving again, but the conductor pulled her aside again.

"Where are your friends? Do they have their parents?" This man was annoying Becca.

"Yes. Their parents are coming. And-HERE THEY ARE! Claire! Skylar! OVER HERE!" Becca had spotted Skylar's dirty blonde hair and Claire's chestnut colored hair. Their attention turned to Becca who was standing just feet away. They rushed over with their parents.

"Becca! We're gonna miss the train! Hurry up! I don't want to be late on the first day!" Skylar started freaking out.

"The train leaves at exactly eleven o'clock. We're gonna miss it! C'mon!" Claire explained while also tugging Becca by the arm to the middle of platforms 9 and 10. Mrs.Rosewood and Mrs.Joyce walked to their daughters who were both on each of Becca's sides. Because Becca's parents were muggles and weren't there, Mrs.Rosewood explained how you got onto the platform.

"In between platforms nine and ten, you run straight into the wall and arrive on Platform 9 3/4. So, get lined up here, grip the bar tight, and get ready to start running into the wall." Becca was unsure of this. Running into a wall?! Was Skylar's mum as crazy as Skylar?! Maybe that's where she'd gets it.... Becca's thoughts were interrupted with Skylar and Claire telling Becca to start running. She trusted Claire...sort of...but she still needed Skylar to prove her trust. So, Becca got ready and started Olympic-Style running to the wall and through it. She felt a breeze of cold air on her face and it felt as if she swallowed a nice cube whole. Just as quick as the cold air came, warm air and steam replaced it and Becca was standing on Platform 9 3/4. A giant, black and red train was right beside it, steam blowing out of its top. Parents were struggling with their kids, attempting to put them on the train. Soon, the Rosewoods and Joyces joined Becca on the platform. Becca followed Skylar and Claire who followed their parents. The smell that was lingering around the platform was smokey but had some very pleasant scents. Vanilla, cinnamon, tree bark, and pumpkins. It may seem like a strange concoction, but it sure is alluring. Becca, Claire, and Skylar boarded the train after giving hugs to the two families and started waving from the windows. At exactly eleven o'clock, the train gave a wild lurch to signal it's departure. The three girls waved to the two families on Platform 9 3/4 whom started waving frantically back, whilst fighting back tears. Soon, all the families had disappeared from sight as the train started making its way to Hogwarts:School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Becca was petting her cat, Smoke, while Claire was snoring loudly and Skylar was on Instagram (this is modern times). Becca soon got out her phone to watch Vine videos. But her phone died immediately. Becca groaned. Then, a person was walking past the compartments. She had long, bleach blonde hair with a black headband keeping her bangs out of her face. She was wearing a green sweater, a black, flowy skirt, and black pantyhose. She was gazing into all the compartments. When shed looked in Becca's, she looked away and walked away. She then backed up and looked into the window again. The compartment door opened.

"Smith?!" The girl asked in utter disgust and shock.

"Marinia?!" Becca gasped. Meredith Marinia was one of the snobbiest girls at Becca's school. So she was the most popular. Also Becca's bully for four years. Meredith and her posy consisted of three people: Meredith, Amanda Clayton, and Sandra Bronze. Amanda and Sandra were third cousins and were equally ugly and warty. Warts covered almost every square inch of their horrific faces. They had arms you would mistake for muscles. They were really just covered in fat. Their legs looked like an adult male's thigh...while sitting down. Meredith was the only skinny one. Except she was as skinny as a stick and appeared to have had all her bones move right into her cheeks. Her beady, dark green eyes suited her. Her nose was long and pointed. Becca always thought she looked like those stereotypical witches. She was Amanda and Sandra's fifth cousin, so she had a wart on her hand and on the corner near her right eye.

"What are you doing on this train, Smith?!" Marinia asked.

"Apparently to the same place you are." Becca replied.

"How are you a witch, Smith?!"

"Same way as you are."

"Oh, yeah? Your family is pure-blooded?" Marinia asked with a scoff.

"No. But-"

"I don't need to hear. It lowers my I.Q. listening to you. Especially if you know nothing about magic and Hogwarts."

"If you had an I.Q.!" Becca shot back. Marinia gasped as if she were almost stabbed. She stuttered on her words and groaned which ended up as an angry scream/groan. And she stomped away.
