Chapter 31 The truth about her past

**Sapphire**

After we got food we went to our rooms to pack since we were leaving on Saturday and it was wednesday now.

"I think I've got everything that I won't need till Saturday." Jewel said zipping up her medium sized suit case

"Same" I responded

"Ok so tell me about you and Mitch" Jewel said sitting on her bed facing me

"What do you want to know?" I asked sitting on my bed

"Have you.... you know...." she responded not saying the word

"Really? really you think i would do that?" I said fake hurt "no we haven't. And we aren't planing on it anytime soon."

"Oh ok" she said winking

"What about you and leo?" I asked raising one of my eye brows.

"No. We haven't either." she responded calmly lying down looking at the ceiling.

"Do you want to?" I asked seriously

"No. Not yet any way. I think Leo might thought." She said still looking at the ceiling. "I just don't want to rush into things."

"I know what you mean"

"I want to make sure that it won't be like when I dated jack." She said sadly

Jack was her ex boyfriend. He told her he loved her. Then the next day she saw him making out with another girl. So she called him out on it in front of his friends one night at a party and he punched her in the eye then he beat her up. She had to get stitches on her forehead and she had 4 broken ribs. He also face raped her and actually raped her. He broke into the house one time when our aunt and uncle weren't home and rapped her. When she got back to school from the hospital He told everyone that she payed him for sex, that she was a cutter and other shit. Everyone would shove her into lockers and call her names like 'faggot, emo, cutter, slut' shit like that. A few times people wrote on her locker saying 'go kill yourself,Emo faggot' and other stuff. After a while she went into a really depressed stage and started cutting and kept to herself. Once Jewel told our aunt and uncle about her getting rapped Jack got sent to prison.

"He is nothing like Jack" I reassured her

"I know just..... it's hard to trust someone again" she said slowly

"Let's go for a ride to get your mind off things" I suggested

"Good idea"

---after the pegasus ride----

"How about we get something to eat then we go practice?" I suggested not wanting her to think about Leo and Jack

"Ok." She said "wait. what are we practicing?"

"Ummm...... weapons" I responded hoping it would help her forget about everything

"Ok"

-----------45 minutes later-----------

"Ummm..... the boys want to know if we want to watch a movie with them" I said walking up to Jewel who was beating the shit out of a practice dummy

"Yeah. Ok" she responded not looking at me

"Are you going to be ok?"

"Yeah I'll be fine."

--------------------around 7:00 in the screening room-----------------

About half way through the movie Jewel looked down at her phone and frowned a bit before putting it back down. She snuggled closer to Leo who had his arm around her shoulder. A few minutes later she looked down again only to let out a sob before running out of the room crying.

"What just happened?" Leo asked standing up

"Fuck! that fucking jack ass! next time I see him I'm gonna fucken kill him!" I said punching the couch

"Whoa whoa whoa. what's going on?" Leo asked grabbing my arms so that I couldn't hit the couch "who are you going to kill?"

"Jewels ex boyfriend Jack." I rambled on telling him the story. I left out the rape part of the story.

"I'll go find her!" Leo said running out the door when I finished talking

**Leo**

I ran out of the room frantically looking for Jewel. I ran off towards her room thinking she might so there. I ran as fast as I could. When I got to her room I heard sobs coming from the bathroom. I opened the door to see Jewel sitting on the floor. She had a blade in her hand and was drawing it against her wrist. I ran over and grabbed it from her throwing it across the room and wrapped my arms around her. I grabbed a towel and cleaned off her arms. I looked in her eyes and I saw so much pain and suffering.

"Jewel tell me what happened" I said looking in her eyes

"I-I can't" she said looking away

"Jewel please tell me. I want to help you. I can't do that if you don't tell me what happened."

"It's my ex Jack. He got released from prison" she said in between sobs "he's coming after me" she cried

"I'm here. I won't let him near you. I promise" I said bringing her on to my lap and rubbing her back.

"Don't let him hurt me" she cried into my shoulder

"I would never let anyone hurt you." I said pulling away and looking in her eyes.

"I trust you" she mumbled into my neck

I picked her up and placed her on her bed. Grabbing her phone off the floor first.

"Jewel?" I asked sitting beside her

"Yea" she mumbled

"When did you start cutting?" I asked softly.

"I relapsed tonight" she said looking away from me "do you hate me?"

"Jewel. I could never hate you" I said taking her chin in my hand and kissing her on the lips "okay?"

"Okay"

"Promise me you'll stop" I said looking strait into her eyes

"I promise Leo" she mumbled back

"I love you Jewel" I said once she fell asleep with her head on my chest

I wanted to know exactly what happened so I started looking thought her messages.

I scrolled down until I saw Jack's number.

I flipped thought the messages and saw all the threats that he sent her.

One said 'I don't know where you are hiding but I will find you and when I do I will kill you. You sent me to jail now you are going to pay the price' another said 'I'm going to find you. When I do I will rape you then I will kill you' the list goes on

The earliest one was a few days ago. Today obviously wasn't the first night of Jewels relapse.

I promised myself that I would do everything I could to protect Jewel.
