Jolex: Izzie's Return

Chapter Six

Izzie
I have a six hour surgery with Alex today. We ended the day yesterday on bad terms. Although I saw his point of leaving the sternum, I didn't see the benefit. It could cause infection or break. It might not even grow like he intended it to do. I ran over multiple possible conversations in my head that I could have with Alex. He tended to reflect anything personal but I wanted him to know the real reason I left. I pulled up the the parking garage and parked my car. I went to grab my bags from the back seat when I heard some muffled shouting radiating from a couple cars away from me. It sounded like a woman and a man arguing back an fourth. I ignored it and stepped out of the car. As I started to approach the exit I looked up to see Meredith and Alex having a heated conversation, but they didn't look mad at each other. Meredith was unloading her swarm of children from her car and Alex was on the other side with his hands placed on his head in distress

"She probably just left to cool off Alex it sounds like the conversation got pretty intense." Meredith said taking a deep breath and motioning for Alex to do the same.

The conversation hit pause when they noticed me. This caused my walking speed to increase to a slow jog. I signed in relief when I finally reached the building.

Alex
"Why would you even say something like that Alex." Meredith said sternly almost like a mother scolding her child.

"I didn't think about it Mer." I said back just as harshly.

"I haven't seen her but that doesn't mean she ran Alex. Don't lose your head." She said "what happened after she went to the bathroom?"

"Well, she stayed in there for almost a half an hour, but I heard the shower running. She came out in the same clothes but her hair was wet. When I heard the bathroom door open I turned around and I saw the front door closing. She didn't say anything."

"I wouldn't worry about it. She is most likely here. Why don't you take the kids to daycare and I will find her. Then you two can have it out in the court yard because the on call rooms are reserved for sex which won't be happening for you." She laughed slapping me on the shoulder.

"Whatever" I said back.

This is so extremely short and not even my best writing. I promise this book is not dead. You have to remind me that I have it though because I forget. Just tell me when you want an update and I will give it. Anyway here is a preview of the Next chapter. Hint hint: The confrontation between Alex and Jo isn't even the most exciting one.

"Yeah the Alex you knew was someone that My Alex wouldn't even associate with so why are you trying to pretend like things haven't changed" She said crossing her arms.

"I know they have changed but not enough for me to believe that Alex would prefer Snow White over someone who understands him." I shot back mimicking her stance

"I'm not a princess and this isn't Disneyland. And instead of firing shots at me why don't you do the job you came here to do and leave me and my relationship alone." She said lowing her voice to a whisper when she realized she was drawing attention.
