I wake up to Diana gently shaking me, "Wha-why?" I grumble. "Wenny wake up! We have to leave my house thirty minutes earlier then you have to leave yours." She chuckles. I slowly get up grumbling as I go. "Rowen, I know you dislike the clothes you have, so I bought this outfit for you." Diana fishes out a clothing bag. "Go and try it on!" She shoves me into the bathroom.
I slip on the silky white top and the stylistically ripped jeans. I step out of the bathroom admiring the outfit. "Diana-" I start but she stops me. "The least I could do." Diana gives me a peck on my cheek. "But I'm not done yet!" She pulls out a pair of purple vans. "What, no!" I cover my face with my hands. "Yes," she forces me to put them on. "Now let's go get breakfast." Diana grabs my hand and holds it firmly.
"Hey girls. Looking good Rowen." Robin smiles at us as we sit down. Charlie is seated and drinking orange juice and eating proper jelly and peanut butter toast. "Four eggs, two for me and two for Rowen," Diana states plainly as if it's a restaurant. "Sure thing!" Robin responds happily. We finish up quickly after she serves us and we are out the door.
Charlie hugs me the whole bus ride to his daycare telling me how he loves Diana's place.
We drop him off at daycare and then walk to our school enjoying ourselves. "Don't let the Kiera group get to you OK? And let's meet at the tree in the courtyard again." Diana squeezes my hand. I enter the gates of hell. Again.
The day is normal hair pulling here being spit on there, at lunch, we meet on our special tree spot. "Your Mom is amazing." I smiled thinking about her. "She is. It was so nice being able to fall asleep knowing you're ok." Diana frowned. "I worry." I look down avoiding tears, I'd been trying to forget about home. "Sorry." Diana angrily muttered, "I mess up." She seems to be talking to herself. "You think I'm perfect but I really am not." Diana looks over at me tears dripping down her face. "I want to be the one perfect thing in your life." She almost falls off the branch as she tries to hug me.
"But you are."
I pick up Charlie and then take the bus home. Diana had scared me with that sudden outburst but we spent the rest of the time hugging, we would kiss but making out on school grounds can get you detention, not that I care about detention.
We get off the bus (we being me and Charlie) And find our mom on the step crying. "What's wrong mom?" I hurry Charlie over. "The inspectors came. They say our apartment isn't fit for you guys." She starts hardcore crying. "They're taking you away from me."
