Moonlight

I wake up at 7:30 on a Sunday morning, everything feels oddly perfect. Though 'Dad' was rude I'm relieved to get meeting him over with, plus I realized that I had a wonderful sister by my side, Ellery. My phone beeps so I reach over and grab it. 

                                                     New message from Mom

Mom: hey sweetie!  I have some super exciting news. XOXOXO

Me: Hi Mom. What is it?

Mom: I got a job!! Well, I've had it for a few days already but I wanted to earn some money and see if the job was a good fit before I told you. So in about a few months time, I should be able to have you guys back! I talked to Mr. Banks. 

Me:  Mom!!!! That's amazing!!! 

Mom: I know right? Even I can't believe it. Maybe next I need a boyfriend? 

Me: We don't need another 'dad' *barf*

Mom: Your dad was a good man.. Or I think he was. I don't know what happened to him.

I turn off my phone and sigh at myself for forgetting that Mom doesn't know the truth. My plans for today are nada and it's kind of relieving that I have no plans but on the other hand, I want to see Ellery. 

Ellery

Me: Hello!

Ellery: OH MAW GODDDDDD! This girl (really cute btw) asked ME out!

Me: I didn't know you were gay? :)

Ellery: Well I'm bi, but I totally lean towards the ladies. 

Ellery: I'm hella scared tho she asked me where I wanted to go :-O and I have no date ideas help!!

Me: I & Daina want to go on a date... Maybe it could be a double date?

Ellery: Yess! I def want big sis's opinion. I'll ask her and see what she thinks brb.

Is it lame that I don't know what brb stands for? 

Ellery: She said it's chill!!!!!! Does seven thirty PM work for you two?

Me: Yeah it does.

Ellery: Gr8 I'm super excited. Luv u big sis. ]

I smile at being called big sis and at the chance to see Ellery again. Diana is getting ready and I hear her humming along to a random song.  "Dianaa" I knock on the door. "Come in babee." I hear a click as the door unlocks, I step in and see her strictly in her towel I blush. "What?" She winks. "Stop it, Diana." I chuckle. "Anyway Ellery got asked out by a girlll." Diana gapes and yelks. "I knew it!" When she does this her towel drops I close my eyes like a school girl.  "Diana laughs and pulls up her towel. "I'm your girlfriend Rowen." I nod and continue, "I planned a double date with them tonight at seven thirty tonight." Diana smiles at that. "Sounds good babe, now let me get dressed." 

TIME SKIP TO FIVE PM 

Diana and I walk holding hands to the park, I'm excited to meet Ellery and Maggie, (Maggie being the girl who asked her out.) "Diana if Maggie is a jerk do we knock her out?" I ask. "No..." Diana laughs. When we get to the park we see two girls hesitantly kissing on a bench. I and Diana sneak up on them and scream boo.  "AH!" Ellery and Maggie leap up. Diana instantly apologizes but Maggie and Ellery are laughing and pretty soon Diana and I are too. 

"So Maggie, tell me about yourself," I start with the questions. "Well, I obviously go to Jefferson High with Ellery. I have no siblings, but I have a dog named Honey after the character in the anime Ouran high." Maggie has bright blue eyes and messy brunette hair, she's wearing a red plaid sweater a blank tank top and mom jeans with this bulky belt. "So what's your sexuality if you don't mind me asking," I ask. "I'm pansexual," she responds confidently.  Diana and I nod. "Well, it was great meeting you, Diana and I were hoping to walk down the trails a bit." I shake Maggie's hand and give Ellery a hug. 

We walk down the dark paths the only light is from the moon. "Do you approve of Maggie?" Diana asks me. "For sure. She seems super sweet." Diana nods her agreement.  We find a park bench overlooking a cliff.  "You really have grown a lot over these past few weeks." Diana squeezes my hand. "I used to let stuff get to me I guess. I always just told myself I was okay." We sit in silence for a while.

The moonlight splashes over us and I feel a feeling I haven't felt in awhile...
