Eden walked with Lucas and Max up over the hill that lead to the scrap yard, parking her car back in the street so it wasn't damaged in whatever the hell they were doing. She stayed quiet as the two younger kids spoke between themselves, Max happier since she left the house. As they reached the top of the hill, they found Steve and Dustin emptying buckets of meat into a pile.
'I said medium-well!' Lucas yelled.
The two preteens waved down at the pair, Eden smirking as she followed after them. Her eyes scanned over the countless damaged cars and the old school bus that sat in the yard rusting away, ignoring the instructions that Steve was throwing at her; flipping him off instead. She watched as Max listened to him, moving to grab bits of scrap metal. Dustin grabbing Lucas and dragging him behind a wrecked car before ducking down out of sight, making her shake her head as she listened to their quiet mutters.
'You gonna help or what?' Steve sneered as he walked past.
'Nope,' She replied with a smirk.
'What are you even doing here then?'
'Protecting my friends from whatever the fuck is going to attack them.'
'What? And I can't do that?'
'Apparently not since you pussied out last time.'
'I did not.'
'Bullshit. All you care about is the hair.'
'And all you care about is being a bitch.'
'And if I am such a bitch, what am I doing here when I could be anywhere else but?'
Steve's mouth opened and closed a few times, but no words came out. Eden rolled her eyes and placed a cigarette between her lips, lighting it before blowing the smoke in the boy's face.
'Suck my dick, Harrington,' She stated before walking over to Max.
'Hey! Dickheads!' Steve yelled as he smacked as chair against the car Dustin and Lucas were hiding behind; 'How come the only one helping me out is this random girl and my worst nightmare?'
'Don't you know it.'
Max chuckled as she and Eden carried a piece of metal over to the bus, the Lawson girl managing to smirk the entire time.
'We lose light in forty minutes. Let's go... Let's go, I said!' Steve gushed as he walked away from the younger boys.
'All right, asshole! God!' Dustin yelled.
'Okay! Stupid,' Lucas muttered.
Eden paused as Steve's words ran through her mind, she had forty minutes and she was going to use them.
