Eden stood stock still at the top of the stairs, her eyes wide as she stared at her father's tense figure. She could see the anger in his face, the shadows from the light stream only making him look meaner.

'I was out,' She stated.

'Have you been drinking?' Silas spat.

'No, sir.'

'Have you been smoking?'

'No, sir.'

'Are you lying?'

'No, sir.'

He stared at her for a moment, taking a few steps forward until he was face to face with her.

'Where have you been?' He asked.

'Out,' She replied.

Her head whipped to the side as a loud clap echoed throughout the quiet household, her door flying open. Billy stepped out into the dark hallway, looking straight at Silas before he looked at his girlfriend.

'What did you fucking do?' He sneered.

'Who the hell are you? And what are you doing in my house?' Silas exclaimed.

'Did you hit her?'

Eden blocked Billy with her arm as he strode forward, not wanting to wake her mother because then there'd be chaos.

'Arsehole, I'm ok,' She whispered.

'That is not the time to be using that name,' He replied lowly.

'Fine. Babe, I'm ok. Just leave it.'

'But he hit you.'

'And now he won't see me again.'

'What?'

'We're going.'

He looked over her face through the dark, his face softening slightly as he met her pleading eyes.

'Fine,' He muttered before pointing at her father; 'But you touch her again and I'll kill you.'

The man stood his ground, the Lawson girl's arm flying out to stop Billy once more. She sent him a stern look, grabbing his hand before she pulled him back down the stairs.

'Eden, get back here,' Silas called.

She ignored him, striding out of the house with Billy beside her. The girl stopped by her car, turning to face her boyfriend.

'Head to your house. I'll meet you there,' She informed him.

'Why did you let him do that to you?' He hissed.
