' Jesus, am I dead? '

Billy was gone when Eden woke. The sheets slick with sweat, his musk sitting heavy in the air. She hadn't heard from him since, heading to work with the boy heavy on her mind. She was working on Billy's car which she'd gotten Al to pick up for her, attempting to repair what should've been a complete write off.

'Eden, sweetheart, take a look at it,' Al tried to convince her.

'I know,' She huffed; 'I just- It's his car. It's all he has left of California.'

'Maybe, it's time to move on.'

'No. I'm not giving up yet.'

The man waved her off with a sigh, wandering away; leaving her be. Eden ran her hand over her hair, pulling the fly aways from her face. She rolled herself back under the Camaro, eyes raking over the damage done. She pushed herself out a little, eyeing off the wrench that laid just within arm reach when boots came into her line of sight.

She let out an annoyed huff, rolling herself out completely. She reached for the rag beside her, rubbing her hands on it before she looked up; scrambling away from the person that stood there. She fell back onto her elbows when she slipped on grease, tools from her overalls clinging against the concrete.

'You ok, sweetheart?' Al called.

She paused, 'Yeh, just bumped my head.'

Al simply chuckled, remaining where he was hidden away. Eden glared up at Silas as she pushed herself up to stand, holding her wrench tight in her fist.

'You can't touch me or you go right back to rotting in a cell,' She sneered.

'I'm not here to hurt you,' Silas raked his eyes over the car; 'I want to know where my wife is.'

The girl smirked at that, 'She's not at home?'

'No... You have something to do with that? Maybe, put her in jail too?'

'Fuck you.'

Silas laughed humorlessly, stepping forward to walk around the car. His eyes raked over it, a hiss leaving his mouth at the damage riddled down the right side.

'You need to leave,' She sneered.

'That's some nasty damage,' The man ignored her; 'Must've hit a pretty big deer.'

Eden stepped in front of him, glaring up at his old face; 'Get out before I call Hopper.'

'Don't you call him Dad these days?'

'Get out. I'm serious.'

The man smirked, tapping the side of his nose before he left. Eden felt as though a bucket of cold water had been thrown over her, letting the breath she had been holding in waiting for his attack. She sat down slowly, hiding her face in her hands.
