*Third Person P.O.V*

For others, life was not as peaceful as it was for Jodie. Director Fury was in D.C., having just left a meeting with senior SHIELD official Alexander Pierce, and he overall was not having a very good day. As soon as he got in the car, he dialed the one other person he knew he could trust.

"Activate communications."

The electronic communicator with the car, similar to that of Jarvis, replied, "Activating communication encryption protocol."

"Open secure line 0405," he ordered.

"Confirmed."

He only had to wait a few seconds before a feminine voice answered the phone. "This is Hill."

"I need you here in D.C.," he said immediately. "Deep shadow conditions."

There was a pause. "Give me four hours."

"You have three. And contact Jay as soon as you land," he added as an afterthought.

"Why?"

This time, Fury paused. "Because we need her. She'll understand when you debrief her."

"I'll contact her as soon as I land," Hill replied.

"Good. Over."

As we pulled up to a set of traffic lights, Director Fury had no idea his life was about to take a turn for the worse.

~A FEW HOURS LATER

*Jodie's P.O.V*

"Freak!"

"You're just... differents."

"Alien!"

"Go back to where you came from, loser!"

"... Radioactive."

"Steve, I'm a walking, talking weapon."

"You're Radioactive. That's what the kids at school are calling you."

"Look everyone! It's Radioactive!"

"One day I'm gonna explode..."

"You shouldn't be here."

"Our school isn't made for freaks like you."

"JODIE!"

"FREAK! FREAK!"

I opened my eyes in a flash, the remainder of those memories slowly vanishing as i came to grips with my surroundings. That was another life, I no longer have to worry about that... so why do I constantly remain haunted by their past events?

Sighing quietly I lowered myself back to the floor from the current yoga position I was in - yes, I do yoga nowadays to help me relax - and brushed hair back from my face as I reached for my drink bottle. I heard footsteps and Caleb entered the room. I smiled and he smiled back when he saw me.

"Are you still as flexible as you used to be?" he asked, taking a seat on the couch.

I chuckled and got up, walking into the kitchen. "More so, actually. It's just taking awhile to get used to moving my body into some of the most ridiculous of positions."

"I wonder why," he called sarcastically, making me smirk.

"Hey, I got to be pretty good while living on the run," I defended as I moved back into the living room. "You would be amazed at how quickly your life changes when you've been declared dead for six months."
