"Thank you, your highness," Count Carlos bowed as we finished our dance.

"It was my pleasure, sir," I said with a curtsy in return.

I danced with... oh... I don't know... about 20 guys or more so far. My feet were aching badly, and I couldn't wait for the celebration to end, or at least until when I was allowed to be excused.

Before I knew it, someone had stuck his hand out for me to take.

"May I have this dance, your highness?" He said. Ah. This man. I believe his name was Riche Hawthorne, a duke.

"Yes, of course," I said, holding back a sigh. Although, I thought that he was a pretty decent guy. He could potentially be a husband candidate.

After a while of dancing with him, someone bumped into me, causing me to step on the duke's shoes.

"Ah! I'm sorry!" I hurriedly apologised.

"It was my mistake, Princess. Thank you for the dance," the duke managed a smile as we finished our dance. "Please, excuse me."

"Yes, of course," I nodded. 

I swivelled around, trying to find the person who had caused me to step on my potential future husband's feet. Instead, I was met with familiar icy blue eyes, fair skin, and caramel brown hair parted in the middle of his forehead. I felt my heart skipping a few beats upon seeing him. Something about him seemed familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on it.

"I greet your highness," he said, bowing before me. "Please forgive me for my terrible mistake earlier."

Oh. So he was the one who bumped into me earlier?

"You should've been more careful," I said as he straightened his posture. His suit seemed very expensive, more than that of the men whom I had previously danced with. I had a feeling that it was a designer's suit tailored just for him.

"Yes, I realise my mistake," he said with a gentle smile, one which I couldn't tell was genuine or not. "I once again apologise for it." He looked at me with a smile that made my heart beat even faster. "May I make up for my mistake with a dance?" He stuck out a hand for me to take.

"I'd love to," I smiled and we began dancing.
