[weeks later]

[the wedding]

"This is it, Nick," Olivia heaved a sigh, looking at the reflection of her brother in the mirror in front of her. He was wearing his tailored royal wedding suit, a custom practised among royals of all kingdoms during holy matrimony.

As one of the bride's bridesmaids, she was obligated to wear a pastel pink floral gown, something which matched her taste well no matter how much she detested against wearing it that say.

"I can't believe you're getting married to her of all people," Olivia adjusted his mantle. "... After today..." Olivia's voice faltered. "...everything... changes... even Cadence is getting married to some douchebag... damn..."

Nicholas was just as infuriated when he heard from Prince Christopher, her older brother, that the princess was threatened into marrying a foreign prince to prevent their kingdoms from going into war with each other.

"Olivia," Nicholas said firmly as he placed his hands on her shoulders, making his younger twin sister face him. "Nothing is going to change. I swear on my name that it won't."

"Yes. They will change. You deserve to be happy after marriage. Have kids of your own with the person you love. Not... whatever this is..."

"This is for her highness's sake, and our family's as well," Nicholas told her in a gentle voice.

"But Nick..."

"Olivia," Nicholas chuckled. "What would I ever do without you, my little sister? Don't worry about me. You should worry about Stella and Damian, that troublemaker. Look after Mother and Father well. Make sure our older siblings are well, and Sir Pennyworth as well... now that I think about it, I'm really going to miss Alfred's cookies. Y'know. The ones with extra chocolate chips-"

"Nick, don't make me cry..." Olivia sniffled.

"Come here," he gestured for her to come closer to him and gave her a warm embrace. "It's going to be alright. Remember what I told you?" she nodded. "Good. That's all I need you to do..." Nicholas trailed off.

"I love you, Nicholas."

"I love you too, Olivia."

There was a knock on the door. "You may come in," Nicholas said.

"I'm afraid it's time to head to the church, your grace," Mark said rather reluctantly.

"Mark, don't tell me you cried," Nicholas blinked at his secretary in disbelief.

"... no, your grace, my eyes were sweating," Mark lied with a few sniffles.

"I'll be alright, you two," Nicholas assured them with a smile.
