[later that night]
I opened my eyes to see that I was in an unrecognisable room with dim lighting. I tried to move, but I couldn't. I found that my hands were tied to the back of a pole, and both my ankles tied to each other. I tried to break myself free from the tight ropes, but it was clearly of no use.
The sound of maniacal cackling could be heard.
"My..." I heard the mysterious figure say as it approached me. You're finally awake, your highness."
"Who... are you?" I squinted my eyes to get a clearer look of him, but apparently, the dim lighting of the room wasn't of much help.
"Someone you wouldn't like," he answered me. "Nicholas should be here any moment now."
"What do you mean?" I said. What does Nicholas have to do with all this?
I felt a sharp pain in my arm, and I blacked out within seconds.
