[a week later]

My father was extremely skilled at acting.

Even Princess Macy fell for his act when he implied that he had no idea that Nicholas was Clay Moorington. Truth be told, he was the one who planned Nicholas' entire mission. The Nexo Knights were in on his plan, and we were all glad that they were able to keep the secret until last week.

Our mission now was from the Force, not our father.

Nicholas and I were tasked with protecting Princess Macy from the Joker while taking him down without the help of Batman. If the latter fails and Batman finds out, we have no choice but to abort that mission and stick to the first one.

It's been a week since my brother and I came to Knighton, and exactly 10 days since our last encounter with the Joker. We've been trying to track him down for days now, all while trying to avoid the suspicious looks that Princess Macy casts at us every time she sees us. For some reason, she has been openly hostile towards my brother, but treated me a little better than him.

The princess was a nice person, really. Considering her situation, I can understand why she's upset at my brother. I'd feel the same if I was in her place. But did she really have to make her anger at him so obvious to the extent of almost murdering him?

No, she didn't.

Over the week, I've seen her discreetly cursing at him, shooting him glares, and trying to do whatever nonsense to kick him out. A few days ago when they were doing weapons training, she swung her mace which almost hit my brother's head! Imagine the cerebral haemorrhage he could've suffered from the impact. I learnt that from my brother. He would survive, but it'll take him a while to recover after surgery.

Obviously, my brother noticed this, and decided to ignore the princess. I, on the other hand, wasn't in the place to interfere. He didn't want the throne in the first place, and had his eyes set on another goal.

I don't really have a clear idea of what his goal was—since he didn't tell me directly—but whatever it is, it would make him happier than ruling Knighton.

I was on my bed, with a laptop on my lap. After so many long hours, I was finally able to locate the Joker's location without the help of my brother. Well, he did help in some way, just not directly since he had a lot of work to do at the royal palace. I called my Uncle Chris on my phone.

"Hey, Uncle, I found his location!" I said happily.

'How exactly were you able to track him down, Olivia?' You might ask. Here's your answer.

While the Joker was busy talking to me during our encounter, I noticed that Nick had thrown something on him. Only a few days later did I remember and finally realise that he had thrown a micro tracker on the Joker.

"What did you find, Liv?" He asked me.

"Well," I began, "I know where he is, but it's probably too dangerous to go there ourselves."

"That's correct," Uncle Chris said over the phone. "If either you or Nick go, I don't know if you'd make it out alive."

"We might not be able to go there and apprehend him ourselves... yet..." I smiled. "But at least we can know about his activities."

"That's amazing," my uncle said, sounding impressed. "Did your brother throw a micro tracker on him or something?"

"Yep," I said and clicked on a few tings on my laptop. "Here's a live recording from his warehouse here in Knighton."

"Okay, play it," Uncle Chris said.

"... No, Cobblepot, I won't do that," Joker said. "Yes, yes. Yes! How many times do I have to repeat that, dumbass? I will destroy the Waynes at the gala next Friday night, not you!"

"Olivia," Uncle Chris said as I turned the live video recording and my laptop off. "There is a possibility that what he said could be a cover up for his real target. You mustn't let our guard down that night. This could be another trap into fooling the Force again. See you soon, Liv."

"Yes, bye, uncle," I said and ended the call.

Just when I was about to call my brother, there was a knock on the door of my room in the palace.

"Come in," I said, and my brother entered the room.

"Olivia," Nicholas said as he jogged towards me.

"Oh? I was just about to call you," I smiled up at him.

"Yeah?" Nicholas said as he sat next to me on my bed. "I had a twin instinct that you needed me."

"So, I have good news and bad news," I said. "Which would you like to hear first?"

"Good news," he replied. "No sugarcoating the truth."

"Alright," I began, facing my older brother. "I've found the Joker's location."

"... it took you 10 days to find out his location?" He laughed. "Olivia, you're rather slow at this, aren't you?"

"Aw," I said, frustrated. Did it hurt him to at least give a compliment?

Nicholas chuckled and patted my head. "But still, you did it pretty well. I'm proud of you, Liv." I smiled at him. I don't know what'd I'd do without my brother...

"What's the bad news?"

"Well, I found out that the Joker is planning to attack mom and papa at the gala next Friday night," I said. "I called Uncle Chris and he said that it might just be a cover up."

"... the possibility isn't entirely impossible," he sighed. "You know how unpredictable that clown is." I nodded. "What's important is that we have to protect the princess from him."

"Aw, but Nick," I said. "She swung a mace at your head!"

"Let it go, Liv," he told me. "She's not worth our attention and time."

"Right," I sighed. But then someone came to mind, and made me smile. "But someone else is, isn't she?"

"Olivia," Nicholas folded his arms.

"Tell Cadence you love her, Nick," I nudged him. "She loves you too, you know."

"I'll wait until the right moment," my brother said firmly. He broke into a smile, the one he makes when he's in love.

Oh yes, he's definitely in love.
