[a week later]

[tea room]

Macy, King Halbert and Queen Halbert were discussing about Nicholas and House Wayne at the table over tea. Nicholas had yet to arrive as he was preparing himself to meet the royal family. Macy was anxious about her engagement. She noticed how he looked when Princess Cadence was around and knew for a fact that he was in love with the Princess of Auden, and not her.

"Mom, Dad what should I do?" She asked her parents with a sigh as she stared at her cup of tea. "I don't think he loves me."

"Regardless," King Halbert sighed as he folded his arms, "that fact alone that he chose to join you in this engagement to protect you from humiliation and help you become queen shows that he cares about your well being, and his child that you're carrying."

Though the king and queen knew that Nicholas being the father of her baby was a total lie, they had to keep the act going because they didn't want Nicholas to kill them. Just the thought of his shining sharp blade and murderous looking icy blue eyes alone was enough to make them shiver in and tremble with fear.

"Yeah, but..." Macy said, a little unsatisfied.

"Macy," said Queen Halbert. "What matters is the fact that he cares about you, although he doesn't show it."

"It's the thought that counts, huh?" Macy said, and her parents nodded.

"Nicholas would become prince consort while you, the queen," King Halbert informed his daughter. "What matters is that you take your place and settle down as queen of Knighton with a family."

"What also matters is that Nicholas loves the baby that you're carrying," Queen Halbert smiled.

"Really?" Macy said, clutching her stomach. Her parents nodded.

"Why are you talking about my grandson?" Said a strange and unfamiliar sounding voice. "And what's this about him being a father to a baby?"

The royal family turned their heads to see Ra's Al Ghul walking towards them with a stoic expression on his face.He was wearing his forest green house uniform. On his belt was a sword with a gold handle.

"Excuse me, who are you?" Macy asked. "And how did you manage to get past the guards?"

"His grace, Lord Nicholas Wayne has arrived." Ra's smirked.

"I have arrived, your majesties, your highness," Nicholas said with a bow, not noticing Ra's' presence yet. He was also wearing his navy blue house uniform with a black cloak draped over his shoulders which almost seemed identical to that of Ra's', only that the detailing on his uniform was silver instead of gold. Nicholas had his white gloves on, unlike Ra's, but he didn't carry his sword.

"My apologies for being late," he said, "I had some work to finish up in my office—"

Ra's unsheathed his sword and pointed it towards Nicholas' neck, causing the royal family to gasp. Nicholas, unfazed, could feel the cold metal of the sword against his skin, but it didn't bother neither scare him, as he was already used to the feeling.

"Guards, seize him!" Macy yelled, and a few royal knight guards came in to seize the intruder.

"Come any closer," Ra's said darkly, "and I won't hesitate to slice your heads off your necks."

"Stand down," Nicholas ordered the guards.

"Yes, your grace," the guards stood down as he had ordered.
