"Hey, uncle. He's here?" Nicholas said hurriedly, barging into the room of the chief of staff, his uncle, Chris Thomas.
"That's the first thing you say to me after not seeing me in months..." Chris mumbled under his breath.
"He's just happy he's home from that messed up kingdom, Chief," Vanessa said as she walked in.
Chris and the other agents had been informed of her return from the hands of death, and was now aware of her position as the Head of their organisation's second in hand behind Nicholas.
"Anyway," Chris sighed, "I'm fine with Vanessa heading over there, but I'm not sure if you want to. I called you over here for this, but now I'm having second thoughts..."
"Why? Where is he?" Nicholas asked, calming down a little.
"... at St. Peter's," Chris told his nephew. "Where Princess Cadence's wedding takes place."
"..."
"See what I mean?" Chris looked at his nephew. "You can sit this one out if you want to—"
"It's fine," Vanessa cut in for Nicholas. "He'll go. Nicholas, you should get a move on first."
"... okay..." Nicholas raised an eyebrow at his cousin before leaving the room.
"Vanessa, what's the matter?" Chris blinked at her.
"He broke off his engagement, chief."
"So I have heard," Chris bobbed his head back and forth. "It's trending everywhere on the news."
"Is it possible to save her highness from that filthy prince?" Vanessa folded her arms.
"Focus on the mission at hand," Chris told her sternly. "You are not eliminating anyone. Has the Head given you any heads up?"
"... no..."
"Then you should focus on the mission. Off you go," Chris gestured for her to leave.
"Aw," Vanessa sighed, "but chief! He's evil!-"
"Go."
"... yes, chief."

Cadence took a deep breath and sighed as she slowly walked down the isle towards her husband-to-be. Her bridesmaids were walking right behind her. For some unknown reason, her family was nowhere to be seen, and her sister was absent from her line of bridesmaids. She decided not to question it, and wanted nothing more but to get the wedding over with.
She always thought that she'd marry for love like her parents did in the past, and not an arranged marriage like she was having in the present.
"Cadenza."
Cadence looked up to see that she had reached Prince Anthony Wilson at the end of the altar, a prince who was blessed with such good looks. Sadly, he wasn't her type.
If she was in the position to choose, she'd want to spend the rest of her life with someone who would truly care for and love her for the rest of their lives. She'd want to be with someone who truly understood her, and knew her—
"Cadenza?"
"... huh?" Cadence blinked up at Anthony, who had extended his hand for her to take and had been waiting for her to do so for about a minute or two while she was in a daze.
