Astrid and her family huddled together in the storage closet, coughing and sneezing from the dust covering their abandoned items.
"Guys, we forgot all our stuff! Everything will get destroyed in the hurricane!" Arnost, whined.
"It's okay, we can't risk someone going down there and be exposed to the hurricane." Astrid's mom said.
"No! We can't leave without our precious things! They'll get destroyed in the storm!" Arnost protested.
Before Astrid could protest or stop him, Arnost ran outside. Ignoring his family's pleas to come back, Arnost ran away to gather their cherished belongings, out of her sight. Astrid started counting seconds, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5- her thoughts were cut off by the roaring wind that suddenly escalated outside. No, no, NO! The hurricane was getting closer and closer by the second while Arnost was downstairs and vulnerable to the upcoming flood.
"Arnost, get out of there!!" Astrid yelled down the opening, peeking her head through the door, scanning the area for any sign of where her brother might be. But it was too late.
The wind started tearing the wall in front them open. Suddenly she could feel the difference in temperature inside the house. She felt something hit the back of her head, and she stumbled forward, slowly staggering into the closet and lied down.
And then everything went pitch black.
A/N: dun, Dun, DUN!!!
