Always Bad

Chapter Thirteen

We head back to the city and back to my house.  When I get back I find that Max is still asleep and Jax and I order some Chinese food.  I was getting nervous by the minute but finally he woke up.  Once Max gets up, I get him to eat and I tell him everything.  I tell him about what would happen when we were younger, how mom and dad were leaders of a gang, and how my father killed my mother. 

I also tell him about how when dad left us, I was the one who was technically in charge of an unorganized gang.  Jake is really the one who brought them all together and knocked some sense into them.  I really don't know where I would be right now without him. 

Everything that I told Jax just hours before I explain it all again with Max.  I go through all of the emotions; my head hurts so badly that I really can't think straight anymore.  To be completely honest, it's hard to think at all.

"Sis?  Can I tell you something?"  Max finally spoke up. I look at him and notice that he's taking this extremely well, I raise and eyebrow to let him know to continue talking.

"I've always known about both of them being in a gang and what happened to mom and why she didn't come back, I just never knew dad did it."  He looks up at me with hurt in his eyes.  "I never would have even thought about the possibility." 

"Well..."  I look over at Jax worried about what he might think about what I want to do.  "Don't worry, because I need your help if you are up to it."  I raise my eyebrow up to let him know that I am talking about doing something about Alejandro.

"Anything to get back at him.  I'm in."

"What?  What do you mean get back at him? Averie Kingston what are you planning to do?"  Jax interrupted but I ignored him and turned back to Max.

"Are you sure you're up for this?  Because for the next couple of weeks we are going to go, and we are going to go fast.  We will be doing physical training every day, you will go through detailed training about how to properly use a gun and to aim."

"This isn't school, this is do or die.  You have to be there Max, this isn't something that you can just daze off in.  You need to be focused.  Look at the bigger picture here.  The faster we find him the faster we take him down and nobody else will ever be hurt by him again."

"Jax here is a part of my gang now, we are going to be training with him and the guys.  I ordered them to come here just so we could take out Alejandro once and for all.  I've been working with Jake trying to find his pattern for months and I think we have finally caught him.  I already have a plan and someone on the inside that is helping me track his moves, but this person can only do so much."

"Wait you never told me about any of this.  Averie, who is on the inside?"  Jax interrupts very rudely once again.

"Shut up Jax and let me continue.  Anyway, him ambushing us and taking you was a part of his plan.  He's always wanted his gang back, but they have come so far from when he used to run it.  They do good now.  They help people and don't fight just to fight, unless it's at the rink, but you know all about that don't you Max."  I laughed a little and so did Max

"And I'm sure as hell am not going to let that dead-beat try and ruin us again.  I am in this whether you are or not.  It going to take a great amount of skill and strength to do this and I know you are going to be exhausted.  So, I am going to say this one more time Max.  Are you sure you are ready for this?"  Max looked me in the eyes and put his hand on my shoulder.

"I will always stand with you sis."  I smiled and nodded and looked at Jax.

"You really think I'm going to let you do this by yourself?"

"Well, like I just told Max here, I've been waiting a long time for this.  The time has come, and I am not going to let anyone stand in my way.  So, I will do this with or without you."  I looked him dead in the eyes, he gave me a small smirk.

"Of course, I will always be there for you Averie." 

"That guy that grabbed you, I told him to send Alejandro a message for me.  That no matter where he runs, I will track him down.  I, Averie Lynn Costa Kingston, am coming for him, and he needs to watch his, everywhere.  Because he will never know, when I'm going to hit, how I'm going to hit or where I'm going to hit.  And where's all the fun if you can't scare him."  This, this is just the beginning.
