I stopped dead in my tracks, turned around and looked him in the eyes.
"Go to hell, Jax."
"Sorry, princesa, I don't know where that is." He said cocky and with a smile. I laugh sarcastically.
"Oh yes, ok then, I'll give you directions on where to...
Time for business. I get up and wake Max up too. I grab my keys and we rush out of the house and meet Jake and the rest of the gang at the old ally way.
Yes. I said gang and I mean it. I associate with a gang, I'm kinda their co-leader, but I'm not really a part of it. A long story to be told at a later time.
I'm actually really excited to see Jake. He's one of my best friends, he's known me the longest and I haven't seen him in a while. He's been lets say tied up with business. He knows everything about me and my past, so we are extremely close.
I hid my car and jump out and see Jake's car, I walk to it when I see him. I give him smile and then a hug which he returns.
"Fill me in." I state while opening his trunk and pulling out a gun and a knife that put on the inside of my pants. I look at him while he talks.
"One of our guys called us from here saying that they were here, and they needed help."
"Thinking what I'm thinking?" I look at him with 'that look' that best friends give each other.
"Oh yeah, this screams trap all over it." I nod my head at him I pull out another gun to give to Max. But when I turn around I'm confronted by Jax and not Max. My eyes widen, and Jake pulls his gun out and points it directly at his head.
"Jake! Stand down!" I scream at him. His face is hard, not showing any emotion, he puts the gun down and looks at me, I give him a nod to let him know it's okay, and walks away. I feel Jax's eyes burning a hole through me, I really didn't like that feeling. I turn to him and cross my arms.
"What are you doing here Jax?"
"What am I doing here? What are you doing here, princesa" I give him a glare and he looks back at me with worry showing on his face.
"Don't you start with me." I uncontrollably hold up the gun. Hey, I was supposed to give Max the gun... Max... oh... my... god... MAX! I look around in a worried state, panic flashing through my whole body making it go numb.
"Averie? What' wrong?" He tries to get my attention but I'm still looking around for Max. "Averie!" Jax holds my shoulders, turning me to him and screams at me. "What's wrong? Please tell me what's wrong!"
"Max, where's Max!" My body still numbing and tingling I run past Jax, but he holds me back. I notice someone standing behind him. I move him out of the way with my heart pacing so fast I feel like it's going to explode. It was a NorthEast, they had Max with a gun to his head, Max's eyes filled with fear and plead for us to help him. I look at him and try to come up with a plan. Ha, I know exactly what to do. I change my attitude around and put all my emotions on my face.
"Please, please don't hurt him, he's not in this as much as I am. Take me instead." From behind me I hear Jax.
"Averie, no!" I ignore him. I put the guns down and start moving toward them.
"Please he is my little brother, he deserves to have a chance, plus he's not the one he wants." The man's eyes turn from cold to interested as he raised an eyebrow up at me. I looked at Max and I looked down, I looked back to the NorthEast.
Max's eyes shifted down but looked at me with wide eyes telling me that he knew exactly what I meant. He raises his eyebrow at me and I slightly nod making sure to not get the man's attention.
"Please?" I keep taking small steps towards them as the NorthEast's eyes looked up from the ground.
This was my shot, I kicked my leg up and hit the gun out of the guy's hand while Max ducked just in case it went off just like I subconsciously told him to. The gun flew into the air and I caught it with my hand and I pointed it at him. The man's eyes went straight to fear as he no longer had leverage and his boss is going to kill him for losing it. I smiled as Jake and the others blocked him from running away. With Max at my side now, I hand him the gun and he unloads it. I walk up to the NorthEast and punch him right in the face.
"That was for taking my brother." As he whimpers in pain, I knee him in the crotch. "And that was for underestimating me. Now go and crawl back to your boss and give him a message for me." I step closer to him and pull him up, so I can whisper in his ear.
"Come and get me." I smile as I turn around to Max taking his arm and walking away as everyone else followed me.
Once I got far enough I told Max to go sit in the car, I let go of his arm and I feel another grab my hand. I look up to find Jax, I meet his eyes and they are full of worry and hurt.
