Thankful that my first period class was over I headed to second period with no other problems than the asshole this morning. Honestly though, who does he think he is? He has no idea who he is messing with if he starts with me again.

My second period class is AP calculus. Honestly, don't even know why I was put into this class I completely suck at math. I walk in already dreading the next two hours, but to make it even worse when I look up to find a seat the first person I make eye contact with is the kid I ran into this morning.

This day cannot get any worse than this, whyyy. Look away, I skim the room again accidentally making eye contact with him again. I'm taken back for a moment, he was smirking and the only way for him to make eye contact with me again was if he was staring. He motions be over to him and I start moving.

Why the... he's an asshole why the fuck am I moving towards him. I try to turn around but end up hitting my hip on a desk. Embarrassed I give up and turn back around and continue walking towards the seat next to him. Once I get in front of him I look at him before sitting down hoping that he will say something like, "I didn't mean you." But he didn't he just looked up at me still with a smirk on his face and pats the seat next to him.

"So, I never caught your name this morning sweetheart."

"It's 'cuz I never gave it to 'ya asshole. And don't call me that." I give him a sarcastic smile and go back to opening my binder.

"Come on, I just want to know your name. Here, 'll give you mine first. I'm Jax." He says looking me in the eyes, while biting his lip. I find this actually really hot. Dammit Averie you need to focus.

"Fine, Averie. My name's Averie." I roll my eyes and look pull out my phone. It's only 10:08, ugh. I sigh and put my phone back in my bag. Jax turns around to the front of the room as if that's all he wanted. But I know for a fact that he's not done. I get back to opening my binder when someone looms over me.

"Hi Averie, I'm Noah. I'm a friend of Jax's but don't mind him he's a nice guy once you get to know him."

"Uh, yeah I don't think I want to." I say loud enough for Jax to hear but then instantly disappointed when I realize that he has his headphones in. Noah sits down behind me, and a girl from my last class sits down in front of me.

"Hey it's Averie, right?"

"Uh, yeah. Madison?" I say hoping I was right.

"Yup. That's me. So, do you have lunch next period?" She asks extremely fast.

"Yeah why?"

"Well I saw you talking to them and I didn't want you mixing with the wrong crowd on your first day here." She says this lightly as if it might offend me, but it doesn't.

"Oh my no! Quite the opposite actually." She starts to laugh.

"Good. I'm glad, so how has your day gone at South Coast High so far?"

"Oh, well, you know, I ran into them, well him specifically." I motion towards Jax. She looks at me with confusion.

"Omg, was it you this morning who told him off?" I nod. "That was amazing, no one ever usually stands up to him."

"Well he deserved it. I was going to tell him to go to hell but I kinda thought that it was going to push him over the edge, so I didn't bother." I smile, and Maddie laughs.

"I'm glad I found someone who despises him as much as I do. All the girls swoon over them. I, however, am not phased. They are just players. They get it on with a girl then leave, although they haven't been that bad this past year. I still don't trust it. They may be gorgeous but they ain't fooling me." Maddie tells me about their whole group and who's been with who and who is with who at the moment.

"But him, the one that's right behind you," She whispers to me, "Is sadly mine." I gasp and look at her then turn around to Noah who is leaning on a desk a few seats away from us talking to Jax. I look back at the desk he was previously seated in and realize that I didn't even see him move.

"I can't believe you." I start to laugh.

"Shhhhh.. he doesn't know it yet." I give her a look as she blushes and turns away.

"Well thanks for the info, but for real where the hell is our teacher it's been almost an hour."

"Oh, he's not here today, we are supposed to have a sub, but the sub didn't show. Guess they both didn't want to deal with the dumbasses over there." She motioned to the guys who were in a group around a kid who is laying on the floor. We look at each other and start to laugh once again.
