Ava hadn't texted yet to inform me of what day it was today, so I thought better than to approach Holly directly and chose to stay at my locker until one of my friends came in search of me. I was hoping I could see Ava before Ted. She always managed to calm me down before I pounced on people and demanded for explanations. Unfortunately, this time I was on my own.

"You guys got together and didn't tell me first?!" I asked querulously, as soon as I saw Ted approaching. He stopped in his tracks and gave me a shy smile, no doubt surprised that I knew this without him having told me yet. I didn't smile back, though. I was genuinely upset that my best friend hadn't come to me first thing with the news. Once again, I was acting like a dramatic mainstream popular girl, but I think we all established that that's exactly what I was. Holly was the guy in the relationship.

"We were going to tell you on the way to Holly's house, but you ditched for math tutoring,"Ted answered back defensively.

"Yeah, but you told Holly before me!" I retorted, suddenly considering the possibility that it was my own fault for not getting to know earlier.
Ted shrugged. "She didn't ditch us for math."

I stuck my tongue out at him, and I felt my anger dissipating, excitement taking its place. An idea struck me. "You haven't gone on a date yet, have you?" I asked with a smug smile. Ted eyed me suspiciously. He knew I never got excited about his love stories. Call me selfish, but Holly's and my love story was number one priority. Everything else fell after. Anyway, none of Ted's girlfriends lasted long. Two to three days- a week at most. Ava, on the other hand, was a complete game-changer..

"I just had an idea!" I said excitedly. "So that's where the burning smell was coming from..." Ted muttered under his breath and I hit his arm. His raised his eyebrows, waiting for me to continue. "A double date!" I exclaimed.

Ted looked confused. "Hey, man, you're a really good friend and all, but I don't think I like you like that...." I hit his arm again, harder this time. "You and Ava, with me and Holly!" I shouted. Heads turned in my direction and I rolled my eyes at them, unable to keep that stupid grin off my face. Ted laughed, then the idea finally clicked in his head. "Oh, so you can ask out another split?" He asked, to which I smiled. "Project Mirror Mirror is finally in place."

Ted raised his eyebrows. "But that would mean my first date with Ava would be with you losers as well?" He grimaced. "That sounds terrible. What makes you think I'd say yes to that?"

I groaned. He was right; If Ted and Ava had tagged along on my first date with Holly I would've been pretty mortified as well. "Okay, here's the deal. You somehow convince Holly to go on a double date with you and Ava, and once we're actually there, we'll sit as far away from you guys as possible."

Ted scrunched his face up in mock betrayal. "You're just using me to get to the hot girls!" I laughed. "I'm using you to get to the hot girl that just so happens to be my girlfriend,"I casually retorted back, and Ted looked like I'd punched him. Turns out what I'd said really hit home. Quickly, he gained back composure as if he hadn't just sympathized with me seconds earlier. I knew him well enough to know that this was his compromise face.

He sighed. "Fair enough. But here's the thing- our first date was scheduled for today." I was about to argue with him, when he put his finger up to silence me. "Now, before you make me cancel it, I'll have you know that I spent months dreaming about how my perfect first date with Ava will be. I will not have you ruin that for me just because you're having problems with your love life. I know it's hard, man, but Ava's my dream girl and now I finally have the chance to make it right with her. Bring Holly if you must, but I'm not letting you change anything else."

I nodded, trying not to get hurt by his words. He was merely being candid with me. Yes, it was hard, but I chose to fight for Holly. I shouldn't have to bring everyone else down just because of my choice.  I nodded my head. "Deal."

He informed of the plan to the very last detail, and I couldn't help but be proud of Ted. All this time he'd shown next to no interest in girls. He went out with them occasionally but never committed to relationships. This was a whole other side of him that I had never met. He was being so cautious about this date with Ava. She was definitely someone special.

All this time, I thought Ava was the more caring of the two. She appeared to be the most careless person out there, but if you knew her well enough, you'd know she was more thoughtful than she let on- whether it be a birthday gift or just a word of advice. Ava was always extra careful. Up till now I'd always thought of Ted as more like his twin. Thea never thought about things. She was the most straightforward person I knew. She said what was on her mind no matter how brutal the truth was. She always played by the rules and stayed in her limits, but if you wanted to know just how bad that sweater looked on you, Thea was your girl. Turns out Ted took a liking to the girls he resembled. Not literally, because that would mean he was into Thea, which is disgusting. Either that, or he was becoming more like Ava so that she'd love him more.

Isn't it fun analyzing Ted's personality? Or is it just me?

"Ava!" Ted broke into a grin upon seeing her and gave her a quick peck on the cheek. I couldn't help but gush at how perfect they were for each other. I'd known all along that Ted had an eye for her, but I didn't think he'd have the courage to make the first move. It was probably Ava who made the first move and Ted was taking the credit. That seemed more believable.

"What day is it?" I asked Ava, praying it was either Daisy or Elody. Diasy was clearly easy to impress, seeing that only a few days had gone by and she was already eagerly looking out her window for the next time she could see me. Or at least that's what Ava claimed. Elody, on the other hand.... She was my favorite. Other than Holly, of course. Something about her excited me. The way she talked about the things she loved, the way she brightened up the room every time she walked in...

Daisy was a giant ray of sunshine, but Elody was the rain. She was beautiful, but withheld a thousand mysteries. I wanted to discover who she was, page by page.

Whatever day it was,I was going on this date and I was going to charm her better than Professor Flitwick.

Ava hesitated, then looked as if she was bracing herself to deliver bad news.

"Alora."

A/N I'm sorry I disappeared for so long! I was suffering major writer's block for the past week and I had no idea how to write this chapter. I hope this is satisfying, though. And, to make up for the updates I missed, I am going to update three more chapters today! Don't forget to read them :))

Thanks for everything!!!! <3
