"Did it work? Did she say anything about me? Do you think she's falling for me yet?" I asked excitedly, not able to put anything else on my mind

"Did it work? Did she say anything about me? Do you think she's falling for me yet?" I asked excitedly, not able to put anything else on my mind. Project Mirror, Mirror was my sole focus at that moment; I needed my Holly.

"Okay, slow down. All you did was smile at her. Give her some time, will you?" Ava groaned, trying to hide a smile. I poked her cheek. "You're smiling! Does Ava think it's cute how romantic I am?" I teased, and she rolled her eyes with a huge grin on her face. "No,"she said stubbornly. "You guys are disgusting. All this love makes me want to puke."

"Uh-huh, sure. Except when it's Ted. You loooove him,"I smirked and watched Ava turn a deep shade of red. She never reacted to anything or anyone ever; her poker face was gold. Yet, when there was a mention of Ted anywhere in the conversation, she'd turn crimson.

"Okay, stop it! I do not like Ted. Would you stop shipping us already?" Ava asked me, flustered. I beamed. "Then why are you blushing so much?" Her expression turned stoic. "What else do you expect me to do? You put me in an awkward position; so yes, I will blush." Ava snapped at me. The air was silent around us for a second. I decided to leave her alone. She changed topic and I let her. "Okay, now back to your situation. If you don't act like a doofus and know what she's into, you're going to make her fall for you."

I exhaled. "You make it sound like it's easy."
She frowned. "Will, snap out of it. You're acting like a moody girl on her period. You've been dating Holly for a year now! Don't tell me you haven't tried to get to know her split personalities."

I scratched the back of my ear nervously. Her mouth dropped open. "You haven't even tried?! What kind of boyfriend are you?"
I threw my hands up in the air in defense. "Woah, woah, woah. You're saying this to to the guy who's planning to charm all of a girl's split personalities into falling in love with him? Av, I know it's a bit late, but I'm trying. Okay?"

She looked like she wanted to say something more, when Ted came into the room. "Seriously, guys. I exist! A heads up would've been nice. I've been looking for you everywhere!"

Ava gave him an apologetic smile. "Aw, sorry buddy. It's not like I had any fun here, anyway. Will's just being a lovesick idiot."
It was funny how Ava could transform from an infatuated teenage girl facade to a perfectly normal 'don't care-ish' attitude within seconds.

Ted chuckled and his gaze lingered on her for a moment too long before he said,"Made any progress?" and turned towards me.
I shrugged and folded my arms across my chest. "I'm going to just wing it. Take it real slow, do little cute things that make her smile, and then eventually ask her out somewhere down the line when it's clear she feels the same way about me."
Ava smirked. "Cute things, huh? Like what? Cheesy pickup lines?" I stuck my tongue out at her, but I knew her disgust was feigned. She loved cheesy pickup lines, terrible puns and cliché romance stories like she loved Panic! At the Disco. And trust me, that love was beyond compare.

Holly and I had met when we were four. Her sister Eve and my brother James were best friends. They always hung out, leaving us, the two younger siblings, alone. Eventually, everytime they hung out, we started talking as well. We were little and our imaginations were big, our goals were set high and our fears low.
It was me and Holly against the world.

Back then, she had only one split personality, Kat. I loved Kat just as much as I loved Holly. Kat Days were filled with excitement and those were the days when Holly would be ready to do just about anything. She was brave and fearless. As she grew older, however, she started developing new interests, new personality traits and eventually, new people inside her head. Kat disappeared due to increased anxiety levels and years of insecurities. The fearlessness was replaced by bashfulness, enthusiasm and bitterness.

James and Eve dated for a while before Holly and I got together, but then my jackass of a brother cheated on her with another one of their friends. She never spoke to him again and moved away the end of senior year. Even I didn't talk to James for a while following that. I didn't want Holly to think I was capable of acting like my brother. She never thought of me as anything like my brother, though. She always knew we were polar opposites, just like her and Eve.

When I started dating Holly, she had Daisy and Elody as well. That wasn't too hard for me. Elody Days were pretty rare and Daisy Days were manageable.
At least I got to see Holly for most of the week.
However, as time went on, her splits took over and she was someone else nearly every day.

"Earth to Will...." Ava said, waving her hand in front of my face, snapping me back to the present.
"No, Ted, I'm not going to do your math homework."
Ava laughed. "That's not even what we were talking about. This time. We were talking about how we should get to know some of Elody's friends better in order to be part of her world."

I thought about that. "Yeah, you're right. Like talking to Thea's group. Hey, Ted- do you think you could get your sister to introduce us to the rest of them?"
Ted nodded. "Oh, yeah. Sure. That's not going to be awkward at all. Just ask my sister to take pity on me and donate me some of her friends. Sure, man. What do I have to lose?" I tried to hide my grin. The reason Holly and I shipped Ava and Ted so much was because of their sarcasm levels. Some people were just meant to be together, you know?

"Well, anyway. I've got to go tutor this annoying junior in math. Sucks to be smart," I joked. Ava and Ted rolled their eyes.

"Have fun while I'm gone, you two," I smirked.
"We'll have a lot of fun.... Planning your murder," Ava smiked sweetly.
Ted smiled too. "So I was thinking we skin him alive and then add some salt......"

A/N TED AND AVA ARE MY OTP.
Being the author, I realize I should not have told you that.
However, knowing me and my evilness it's not going to be a fun journey up ahead :)
