I shift uncomfortably as Tyler moves under me turning to look me in the eyes.  "Dee, why are you scared?  We can do this darlin'. "

I let out a shaky breath and reach up rubbing my hand over my eyes.  "Because Ty.  I had to do this without you last time and I lost them.  Our babies died because of me."  I shake my head and feel the frustration rising.  "I can't do that again. I hoped every single day that you'd make it home safe.  That you'd make it home to see your babies."  Tyler squeezes my hand and runs his finger under my eyes before pulling me against him.

"Damn it Lydia.  I know honey."  I feel him kiss the top of my head as he rubs my back, "I know you were alone, and I hate myself for not making it home sooner.  I should have been here with you.  But we know we can't change what happened."  I nod pull myself back looking at him.  "If we're having a baby, then okay.  I'm here honey, you don't have to worry about that.  And there is no way that it was your fault.  You told me they were early, that isn't your fault.  It happens sometimes."  He leans down kissing me gently.  "It's okay Dee.  We can do this."  I nod and rest my forehead against his as he smiles at me.  "I love you so much."

I smile softly and press my lips to his, "I love you too."  His arms wrap around me and I rest my head in the crook of his neck.  I close my eyes and feel myself start to fall asleep.

When I wake up a while later Tylers no longer next to me.  I scoot up in the bed and glance around the room, and see him sitting on the love seat watching a rodeo on the small TV across the room from me.  I push the blanket off my body and swing my legs over the side of the bed making my way across the floor towards my fiance.  I'm a few feet away when I notice his prosthetic laying on the floor next to the coffee table.  I smile a bit and step forward turning the corner of the seat, moving so I'm next to him.  I watch as he looks away from the TV and grins when he sees me.  "Did you sleep okay?"  He asks as he reaches for me gently pulling me down next to him.  I nod, and lean back against the soft pillow behind me and watch his hand rubbing at his knee where it drops off and glance to his face, catching a wince before he can hide it.

"Have you iced it recently Ty?"  I ask quietly as I move closer resting against him.  He sighs and moves his hand from his knee so that is holding mine.

"No."  He says his voice flat, "It doesn't make that big of a difference.  Either way it is gone."

"Ty-"

"It's fine Dee. I'll ice it later.  Okay?"  He gives me a half smile and wraps his arms around me.  "Your mom was calling your doctor to schedule you an appointment.  She was gonna write it on the calendar in your office."  I nod and shift against him, burrowing into his warmth.  "I love you darlin'."  He whispers as he kisses my cheek.  "And I'll love any little one we have together."
