"I can't believe I trusted you with that secret", Janice told Khalil, "you just had to ruin it with laughing".
Khalil's eyes twinkled with playful tears running down his cheeks. He was trying to keep a serious face, yet a playful grin was still dominant on his face.
He covered his smile with a fist and leaned back against the bench. The breeze caused him to squint his eyes and blink them multiple times. He noticed that Janice had tears running down her eyes, making her grey eyes look like a misty storm.
Taken aback Khalil asked Janice, "Are you okay? Are you really offended".
"I'm okay. The wind is totally making you misread the situation", Janice replied looking away, not even bothering to brush the tears away, towards the sunset sighing. Khalil's face got serious immediately and put his arm around Janice causing her to turn around and look up at him.
She frowned and pouted, "Really, I'm fine. You're making me miss out on the sunset".
Khalil raised an eyebrow and pulled Janice closer. Janice raised an eyebrow in response.
"Just because we have just become friends recently doesn't mean we have to get all buddy-buddy", Janice said. Khalil chuckled.
"What, are you afraid to fall in love with me?" he asked with a smug grin.
Janice scoffed and replied, "It wouldn't matter because I'm in an arranged marriage with Josh now. Since you wanted to be a jerk when we were younger," she sighed and closed her eyes completely forgetting about the sunset.
