Pulling his sagging pants up, Keyaan walked anxiously to the door. To say he was nervous was an understatement. Today would be the day that he told Jodie how he really felt.

It took some time for him to process his words and how he would tell her but after a long conversation with his mom, he figured it would be best to just blurt it out to her.

Pulling the door open, Jodie stood with her hands in her big black bubble coat with a large backpack on her back, shivering.

Hurrying into the house she kicked her timbs off, dropped her bags and hurried to the stove that was opened circulating the heat.

"What was so damn important that you made me rush all the way over here through the cold Key?"

"You only walked bout 15 steps." He could already sense her attitude and he wanted to know why.

"Well, it's brick as hell out there and you want me walking."

"Yo what's your problem? I just wanted to talk to you."

"Okay so talk." Moving away from the stove, the wooden floors squeaked under her feet as she walked over to the worn out couch.

"I just feel like we need to talk about some important stuff..." he was cut off by Jodie huffing and rolling her eyes.

"You acting real funny right now man."

"Talk Keyaan." Believe it or not, Jodie wasn't trying to come off as rude and careless but she was irritated.

She had just gotten off the phone with Rakim and he had been yelling at her all day about getting ready.

They were set to leave in a couple minutes but Jodie just wanted whatever Keyaan had to talk about to be over with so she could go be with her man.

Sadly enough, he had already started showing his signs of abuse but Jodie being the naive teenager she was, she ignore every possible sign given to her.

It was just her lesson in life.

"So, I been thinking and I realized that I love you a lot-" he started but was cut off by Jodie.

"And I love you so much more but what does that have to do with this?"

"Just let me finish what I have to say then you can speak."

He took a deep breath. "Like I was saying, I love you. I know you will ole dude and everything but I feel like, we more compatible than y'all. I do more for you than he do and I know we best friends and everything but I want to be more. We bond more on a intellectual level while y'all just in a relationship just to be in one."

"We already having sex while you're in a relationship and I know that's partially my fault so I'm not gone hold that over your head but Jodie just give me a chance to prove to you that I'm the one you need. I love you man."

"I ain't never felt this way before about a girl, and I just feel like you get me." Finally looking up at her, Keyaan quickly looked away not liking the shocked expression that spread across her face.

"Y-you don't gotta leave him and be with me. I just wanted to let you know how I felt because if I held it in any longer I wouldn't be able to cope with it. I rather you know than you never knowing and me hurting myself for not telling you."

"Keyaan I-" Jodie was cut off by the sound of her phone ringing. Rakim's name popping up across it.

Quickly sliding her finger across she answered it and put her phone to her ear.

"I'm outside. I been out here for 10 minutes. Bring your ass on son." With that he hung up.

Hopping up, Jodie quickly grabbed her bag. "Jodie wait, please answer what I told you. I mean I'm sorry if I made you feel—"

"Keyaan please...now is not a good time for this." Slipping into her slides she rushed out of the front door and that was the last time Keyaan saw her for three years...
